You know those days when you suddenly crave gopchang (grilled beef intestines)? Haha, that day I was weirdly craving all the greasy stuff — gopchang, daechang, makchang, the works. So I found Pujim Gopchang Magoknaru Branch. I've had quite a few dinner appointments around Magongnaru lately, so I decided to check out this gopchang spot known for being delicious and generous with portions ^^

What I ordered that day: the pujim half platter (₩59,000) + ramen + fried rice! The whole course from the main dish through to the final fried rice was really satisfying. If you're someone who prefers eating a little of everything rather than sticking to one cut, the pujim platter setup would suit you well.

First impressions of Pujim Gopchang Magoknaru Branch

There are plenty of meat restaurants and izakayas around, but I was craving gopchang that day, so I went searching and found Pujim Gopchang as my go-to gopchang spot near Magongnaru. Just the name — 'pujim' meaning plentiful — already got my expectations up for the portions haha.

When you think of a gopchang restaurant, you might imagine a somewhat cramped, noisy atmosphere, but this place felt comfortable enough for a casual drink with friends and also fitting for a dinner or a work gathering.

Above all, when a group goes for gopchang, everyone has slightly different preferences — someone likes gopchang, someone likes daechang, someone likes makchang. I really liked that there's a menu here that lets you try several types at once ^^

What comes on the 59,000 won pujim half platter

Assorted cuts: gopchang, teuknyang, makchang, daechang, yeomtong

The main dish we ordered was the pujim half platter for ₩59,000. I thought 'half platter' might mean a smaller portion, but it came with gopchang, teuknyang, makchang, daechang, yeomtong, and more all together — one menu item that let us taste all kinds of cuts.

Eating just one thing continuously can get a little tiring, but with this many cuts, the texture kept changing and made the meal more fun haha. Before the main dish came out, we got the basic side setting — and they gave us raw liver too, which brought back childhood memories. My mom used to make me eat it as a kid because it's supposedly good for your eyes,,, ^^

Gopchang has a nutty flavor that gets better the more you chew, and daechang has its own soft, rich taste that pairs really well with drinks. Makchang and teuknyang have a chewy texture — even though they're all beef offal, each cut definitely has its own distinct appeal.

So if you're looking for a good gopchang restaurant near Magongnaru and want to try a variety of cuts, this kind of assorted platter is actually a practical choice.

Why gopchang tastes best with several cuts at once

Personally, when I go to a gopchang restaurant, I prefer eating daechang, makchang, and yeomtong together rather than just gopchang alone. Starting with the milder yeomtong or teuknyang and moving toward the nuttier gopchang and daechang later lets you feel the shift in flavor, which I really like ^^

Daechang in particular can get a bit greasy if you eat too much of it, but alternating with other cuts kept it from feeling repetitive. Eating it with chives or the side dishes also helped cut through the oiliness.

It's the kind of combo that makes you want a shot of soju, but that day I focused on the food itself and tried a bit of everything — and it reminded me again why gopchang is such a popular dinner gathering menu haha. If you're searching for a gopchang restaurant near Magongnaru and want to enjoy several cuts at once rather than just one, I'd recommend checking out the pujim half platter first.

Gopchang stew and a ramen add-on when you dine with a child

After eating a good amount of gopchang, we ordered ramen since my son can't eat gopchang stew,,, haha. The rest of us went with the gopchang stew — after eating rich, greasy gopchang continuously, taking a bite of the hot, spicy gopchang stew really resets your palate, you know that feeling?

Especially with a rich-flavored dish like gopchang, having a soupy option partway through makes the whole meal so much more comfortable.

I stole a bite of the ramen too, haha — one bite of noodles, one spoon of broth, then back to a piece of gopchang; the combo worked surprisingly well. The owner also gave us complimentary bibim noodles (spicy mixed noodles) ^^

Finishing the meal with fried rice

No matter how full you are, you can't skip fried rice at a gopchang restaurant haha. Even though we were already quite full from the pujim platter and ramen, we ordered the fried rice anyway.

Fried rice eaten after gopchang has its own distinct charm compared to regular fried rice. The savory oil and seasoning soak into the rice and bring out a deep umami flavor — I kept saying I was full, but my spoon kept going back for more ^^

If the ramen resets your palate midway through, the fried rice feels like the period at the end of the meal! Going through the pujim platter → gopchang stew → fried rice order left me feeling like I'd had a proper full meal.

Is Pujim Gopchang worth it in Magoknaru? Final verdict

Pujim Gopchang Magoknaru Branch turned out to be a great fit for anyone wanting to enjoy several types of gopchang and offal cuts at once. What I liked most about the ₩59,000 pujim half platter I ordered was that it wasn't just one cut — it let us eat a variety of cuts all together.

Adding ramen for a spicy break partway through and finishing with fried rice made for a great menu combination haha. Especially if you go as a group, everyone can pick out their favorite cuts, so it seems like a good option for a dinner gathering or drinking occasion too.

If you're trying to decide on dinner near Magongnaru or looking for a good gopchang restaurant in the area, this place is worth checking out — and if portion size and variety of cuts matter to you among gopchang restaurants near Magongnaru, Pujim Gopchang seems like a pretty solid choice ^^

Next time I visit, I'd like to add another side dish to the pujim platter. Between the gopchang, daechang, makchang, the gopchang stew, ramen, and fried rice, I really got the full experience at Pujim Gopchang Magoknaru Branch ^^
