Weekday wait and mini gopchang stew at Pujim Gopchang, Magoknaru
In short
Pujim Gopchang Magoknaru Branch is a beef intestine grill restaurant near Magoknaru Station Exit 2 in Gangseo, Seoul. On a weekday evening, a wait formed as soon as we sat down, but turnover was fast, and two of us shared a Pujim Half Platter of 600g along with mini gopchang stew, special bibim noodles, and fried rice. It's greasy but leaves a clean aftertaste, easily worth adding to a Gangseo gopchang regulars list.

It's been about 3 years since I started eating gopchang (beef intestines). Since then I've had fun working my way through gopchang restaurants in Gangseo-gu one by one. This time I visited Pujim Gopchang in Magoknaru.

Is there a wait even on weekday evenings?
It was a weekday evening, and I was first surprised to see a wait form right after we sat down. Good places really are exceptions to nothing, even on weekdays. Still, turnover was fast so we didn't wait long. There were groups here for company dinners and couples on dates too — a pretty varied crowd.

What two of us got with the Pujim Half Platter 600g
The two of us ordered the Pujim Half Platter (600g). Looking at the menu at first, just under ₩60,000 for two servings didn't seem super cheap. But once the food actually arrived, I thought — okay, this is actually a great deal.

You could just tell at a glance how fresh everything was. Gopchang (small intestine), teokyang (beef stomach), makchang (large intestine), daechang (large intestine, fattier cut), and yeomtong (heart) all came out together, and on top of that a mini gopchang stew was included in the set. Lots of fun picking through different parts.

Right from the start, the grilling was done part by part in order, accounting for how long each one takes to cook — you could tell it wasn't just anyone (an expert?) grilling. The gopchang turning golden brown~

Pure freshness — the cheonyeop (beef tripe) and gan (liver). Sauce for each of us too! For two people, the Pujim Half Platter 600g is plenty, and for three, ordering the 1kg would make for a truly hearty meal.

How did each cut taste?
They grilled everything golden brown right to the end for us, which made eating very easy. The gopchang had a savory chew with a moist inside, and the daechang was unmistakably rich and fatty — enough to call for cheongha, haha.

I love teokyang, so I was glad to see it on the platter. Wrapping it in a perilla leaf worked really well too, haha. The chewy texture was great, and the makchang wasn't tough either, so it was easy to enjoy without any pressure. They gave us the yeomtong one piece at a time on our plates before it could get dry. Dipped generously in sesame oil, it was savory and chewy.

The mini gopchang stew that comes with the set
And the real standout here was the mini gopchang stew! Even when soup does come with a meal, it's rare to actually get gopchang stew — but after eating nothing but grilled meat for a while, you start craving broth, right? It was generously loaded with gopchang too. Seeing that gopchang stew is also a separate menu item on its own, I thought giving us a taste of it here was a smart move, haha!

Are the bibim noodles and fried rice worth ordering?
We also ordered the special bibim noodles (spicy mixed noodles). Almost every table seemed to have one, so we got curious and ordered it too — and once we tried it, I understood why. It's sweet and tangy, the seasoning hits just the right note, and it cuts through the rich, fatty taste of the gopchang cleanly. It would've been a shame to skip it. Eating gopchang, then a bite of noodles — such a good combo~~

And finally, the fried rice, of course. Your stomach feels completely full already, but somehow there's always room for fried rice, right? Haha. It was loaded generously with egg, and once fully fried up it was fluffy and delicious. Even the fried rice was generous, living up to Pujim's name (Pujim means 'plentiful')... haha.

Who would enjoy this place?
It's a great spot for office workers around Magok to visit after work, and also solid for a dinner date in Magoknaru. If you're looking for a gopchang restaurant in Gangseo-gu, this is a Magok gopchang restaurant worth checking out. I went in without high expectations and left feeling like I'd found a solid new spot — probably saving it to my list of regular haunts.
Rich and fatty, yet clean. That combination is pretty hard to pull off.
