Daegu Indian restaurant for a mother-daughter date: Rama & Babana

In short

Rama & Babana Dongseong-ro Main Branch is an Indian fusion curry restaurant in Jung-gu, Daegu. My daughter and I ordered chicken curry, butter garlic naan, plain naan, and tandoori cream chicken while looking out over Dongseong-ro at night. A satisfying, cozy choice for a mother-daughter date.

An Indian curry date in Dongseong-ro with my daughter

My daughter had been wanting to really dig into some Indian curry, so we came here. The weather had suddenly turned cool enough to be lovely for walking around, so we browsed clothes in Dongseong-ro and wandered around for quite a while with so much to see.

After passing through the phone street, Rama & Babana Dongseong-ro Main Branch was right on the corner, so it was easy to find.

There can be a wait at lunchtime, and they have chairs ready by the entrance.

An exotic interior with night views through floor-to-ceiling windows

As we entered, the modern interior had that distinctive, exotic feel of an Indian restaurant~ With a chandelier on the ceiling and soft lighting, it had such a nice atmosphere.

The floor-to-ceiling glass on every side makes it wonderfully atmospheric to eat while looking down on Dongseong-ro at night. It is neat and stylish, while the soft lighting creates a warm, cozy mood. It would be so nice for a couples' date.

We had walked around downtown so much that I was thirsty, so I refreshed my throat with some cool water~ What looks tasty? Daughter, what do you want to eat?

Ordering chicken curry, naan, and tandoori cream chicken

We ordered at the kiosk. We ordered a generous spread~

  • Chicken curry ₩12,000 — very spicy, so I recommend it if you like heat
  • Butter garlic naan ₩5,000 — buttery, sweet naan
  • Naan ₩4,000 — plain, mild naan
  • Tandoori cream chicken ₩14,000

The complimentary cucumber pickles are slightly sweet.

Naan alongside spicy chicken curry

The chicken curry and naan came out first. The curry aroma slowly drifted over and whetted our appetites.

The butter garlic naan had a buttery fragrance and sweetness, while the curry had both a spicy kick and a mild flavor.

It was a little hot, but my daughter tore it apart for me. I could do it myself, but she did it so her mom could eat—she is so sweet~♡

The plain naan and curry taste like traditional Indian curry. The spice aroma is not overpowering, and it is spicy but deliciously so. It may be a little hot, but it is a flavor anyone, young or old, can enjoy without feeling burdened.

Spicy traditional Indian-style chicken curry

You can dip a big piece of chicken in the naan, but loading the naan generously with curry is addictively spicy.

It is fusion curry that blends an Indian local-style base nicely with Korean tastes.

It is crisp outside and tender inside, topped with cream sauce and cheese powder. Dipping it in the curry gave it another layer of flavor. With the oil drained away, it tastes clean and mild—something I think everyone would like.

A cozy mother-daughter date in Dongseong-ro

A restaurant date with my daughter in Dongseong-ro~ It was an excellent choice for a cozy mother-daughter date, and we were happy with our meal. We decided to go on a restaurant tour date in Dongseong-ro once a week, and I am looking forward to it.

As a place for Indian fusion food, I recommend it for a date or gathering where you can enjoy an atmospheric meal by the floor-to-ceiling windows with Dongseong-ro's night streets as the backdrop.
