Inside Kkotdwaeji Sikdang Gyeongsan Branch: how many people fit?

Kkotdwaeji Sikdang Gyeongsan Branch is a BBQ restaurant on Seongam-ro that can seat up to 100 people. There were quite a lot of tables and the space itself felt roomy.

Overall it felt clean and well-organized, with a vibe that's good for conversation~ This photo was taken after we'd eaten late into the evening. When we went, lots of families and groups of friends were there having dinner together~

What comes with the Gourmet Set at Kkotdwaeji Sikdang?

The first thing we ordered was the Gourmet Set. It comes with premium pork belly, premium pork neck, premium pork jowl, gochujang dipping sauce, and garnish.

After we ordered, they showed us the raw meat first~ Then they went off to grill it for us.

Blue bandana gift given with the Gourmet Set order

Oh, and they gave us a gift too! Order the Gourmet Set and you even get a blue bandana~~~ We got a present!!!

There's also a self-serve bar, so you can help yourself to as much as you need~~

Grilled at the table: how was the pork?

Grill topped with tomatoes and kimchi

Wow~~ this visual made our jaws drop. Tomatoes, kimchi, bean sprouts, mushrooms, and more all piled on together, right? My eyes were mesmerized~

Plate with several kinds of dipping sauces

Kkotdwaeji Sikdang Gyeongsan Branch also has all kinds of sauces prepared, so you can pair the meat with different flavors~~

Soybean powder, curry, ssamjang and other sauces and side dishes

Soybean powder, curry, pickled onion, ssamjang, salted seafood, wasabi.. so many side dishes too. There's bamboo shoots, napa cabbage kimchi.. a real feast of flavors~

The meat came out grilled to just the right doneness. It had zero gamey smell, which I loved~ The outside was browned and nutty-tasting while the inside stayed moist, so it wasn't dry at all. Side note: they told us if you want the pork neck juicy, eat it right away, but if you want it crispy, grill it a bit longer~

Grilled pork paired with fermented shrimp sauce

On the left, the fermented shrimp sauce was just salty enough that everyone agreed it was delicious, and I loved how both the pork belly and pork neck came out juicy with the fat rendering nicely — but the pork jowl in particular was so chewy and springy that I kept going back for more. It went really well with the soybean powder, too.

Full spread of the generous meat table setting

Looking at it all together, it's really generous, right? The table looked so colorful.

Vegetable side dishes grilled together in the meat fat

Look closely and you'll spot cheongyang peppers, potatoes, and tteok (rice cakes) too~ Green onion kimchi, seasoned bean sprouts, napa cabbage kimchi and other vegetable side dishes all get grilled in the meat fat too~

Korean beef tripe ramyeon with udon-thick noodles

Of all the side dishes at Kkotdwaeji Sikdang Gyeongsan Branch, the Korean beef tripe ramyeon was the most surprising. It wasn't the curly ramyeon noodles we all know — instead, it had chewy, springy noodles more like udon. That made it even more delicious!!

Korean beef tripe ramyeon with udon-like noodles

Side dishes matter too, right? This place has a lot of surprising ones. With Korean beef tripe in it, it's way more generous than a regular ramyeon~

Loaded with so much Korean beef tripe!!

It was just spicy enough and so tasty that our whole family kept drinking the broth. It cuts through the greasiness perfectly~ You have to try it

Adding a small daechang hot pot: how is the broth?

Our family just kept ordering more at Kkotdwaeji Sikdang Gyeongsan Branch haha. It was the kind of place where eating one thing made you want to order another! So we ordered the daechang hot pot too. And is this place secretly a broth specialist too!! The broth was seriously no joke.

Rich broth of the small daechang hot pot

The broth was rich yet kept us coming back for more, so our whole family's spoons kept moving nonstop. But it is spicy, fair warning!

Hot pot filled with daechang and vegetables
Daechang hot pot topped with enoki mushrooms and perilla leaves

You can add ramyeon noodles, fresh udon noodles, or glass noodles for the hot pot. Inside there's daechang and boiled meat, plus lots of vegetables like enoki mushrooms, bean sprouts, green onion, and perilla leaves. Maybe it's all those vegetables steeping into the broth that make it so good. It's rice-thief good, seriously rice-thief good. There was so much left over we packed it to go and had another round of rice-thief eating at home

Final verdict on Kkotdwaeji Sikdang Gyeongsan Branch

  • It was convenient having everything grilled for us!
  • The meat quality was great with zero gamey smell
  • Lots of sauces and side dishes to mix and match

This place would suit a family dinner just as well as a bigger group gathering like a work dinner. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was pleasant, so it was comfortable to eat and chat.

If you're looking for a spacious Gyeongsan restaurant for meat, or a family dinner spot where you can order lots of different dishes, give Kkotdwaeji Sikdang Gyeongsan Branch a try :)
