Dongdaegu Station lamb skewer restaurant: Yangbokjeom fried rice
In short
Yangbokjeom Dongdaegu Station Branch is a lamb skewer restaurant in Dong-gu, Daegu. We tried three servings of giant lamb skewers, beer, and egg fried rice, and the generous portions really stood out. Verdict: two servings plus one fried rice is plenty for two light eaters.

While looking for somewhere to have dinner near Dongdaegu Station, we decided on lamb skewers that day. We went to Yangbokjeom Dongdaegu Station Branch. Its signature is the giant lamb skewers, with much larger chunks of meat than standard lamb skewers. We ordered three servings, had a beer, and even finished with egg fried rice. Long story short, the first thing to try at Yangbokjeom is definitely the giant skewers! I’ll go over the prices, what we actually ordered, and the discount information available when we visited.

It’s in the Sincheon-dong dining alley opposite Dongdaegu Station. A great spot when you’re looking for dinner and drinks near the station!

A suit shop that really commits to its concept.
What’s the interior like?

There were lots of four-person tables, and they could be joined together for larger groups. It works nicely for two people having lamb skewers and drinks, and it also looked perfectly suitable for a big gathering or company dinner.

From giant lamb skewers to egg fried rice

The basic sides were simple: peanuts and pickled items.

Finally, Yangbokjeom’s giant lamb skewers arrived—two servings to start. True to the name, the first thing you notice is the size of the meat. See how thick they are? 😋 Rather than lots of tiny pieces threaded together, each skewer has large, thick chunks of meat.

Line up those giant skewers over the charcoal. Ahh, just looking at them now makes my mouth water 😋

It’s so fun dipping them in cumin, curry powder, pink salt, and chaliao sauce~ I usually eat them with just cumin, or mix all three powders except the pink salt, and honestly, it’s such a winning combo 😋

At first we were happily clinking beers, but after getting caught up talking, the lamb skewers got a little too cooked haha. You know how the middle cooks quickly while the ends take longer, right? You have to keep moving them around and watching them, haha.

Nicely golden-brown lamb skewers 😋 As long as you don’t overcook them, they’re tender and delicious.

We definitely divided them between both sides at first, but as we ate, suddenly all the handles were facing just one way—you can tell one person was doing all the cooking, right? 😆

I saw that lots of people order the egg fried rice here too, so we added one—and I’m glad we did, haha. It was ₩8,000. The fried rice comes on a wide plate with a generous layer of crushed seaweed on top. It also has egg and finely chopped vegetables, making it great to order and share when you want some rice to finish after the lamb skewers!

The two of us ordered three servings of giant lamb skewers plus egg fried rice, and it was quite a lot—we couldn’t finish it all, haha. If you’re not huge eaters, two servings of giant lamb skewers plus one egg fried rice should be just right for two people. Still, looking at the skewer container, we did eat a good amount 😆
Dongdaegu Station lamb skewers: final thoughts
If you’re looking for lamb skewers around Dongdaegu Station, I recommend Yangbokjeom! The giant skewers came with meat as big as their name suggests, and I was happy with both the look and the taste. Three servings plus fried rice was too much for two, so two servings with one fried rice would probably be a better fit unless you’re big eaters! There are also time-based weekday buy-one-get-one drink deals and receipt discounts, so check the promotions before you go 😋
