Weekday evening at Otters Jisan Saetgang, a Gumi mega café: crème
In short
Otters Jisan Saetgang Main Branch is a two-floor mega bakery café in Jisan-dong, Gumi, Gyeongbuk. Visiting around 6pm on a weekday, the writer tried the crème brûlée donut, real milk cream donut, melon cream bread, green onion cream cheese salt bread, and a chestnut latte, though the most popular donuts were already sold out. Parking fits over 90 cars, but the second-floor hall closes after 5pm on weekdays, so it's worth timing your visit.

How big is the parking lot?
A mega café in Gumi! You can spot it from far away!
I was surprised how huge the parking lot was. Spacious and easy to park in. Turns out it fits over 90 cars@ I visited around 6pm on a weekday, and cars kept pouring in after that too.
The entrance and the otter character photo zone
The entrance is behind the big building, next to the parking lot. There's a super cute photo zone right by the entrance. The Otters character is based on the otter, a natural monument found in Jisan Saetgang Park. The otter character is so cute,,,
1950s retro Americana vibe inside
Walking in, the ceiling is really high and opens into a wide, open space, decorated with a 1950s retro American feel. It's spread across 1st and 2nd floors, and the whole place is welcome-kids-zone@
A Kodak camera catches your eye. The combo of orange Otters vibes and the yellow Kodak camera is just so good~,,~ Behind the Kodak camera there's another wide space, and stairs leading up to the second floor.
Browsing the bakery and dessert display
Let's take a look at the variety of bakery and dessert items first

Maybe because it was evening, there were no cakes, but there was milk fresh cream cornet pie, choco cream cornet pie, and yogurt strawberry cream cornet pie. Cornet pie is an ice roll/ice pie eaten cold!

By evening, the popular donuts were sold out
The donuts were what I was most looking forward to. Maybe because I went in the evening, the best-seller donuts were sold out, which was a bummer. Also there were a lot of customers packing donuts to take home!
Plain cream donut, cinnamon plain cream donut, black vanilla cream donut, pistachio cream donut, apple cinnamon plain cream donut, oreo cream donut, earl grey cream donut, matcha cream donut, blueberry cream donut, nutella cream donut, real milk cream donut, bavarian cream donut, tiramisu cream donut, milkshake cream donut, choco shell yogurt cream donut, honey hotteok cream donut, cream cheese sweet potato cream donut, shine muscat bonbon cream donut, crème brûlée donut, berry strawberry donut, fig cream donut

So many kinds of bread too
Ciabatta (no sugar, no egg, organic flour), melon cream bread, sweet-and-salty rusk, cinnamon choco rusk, ham-cheese-galbi croissant, gourmet salt bread, tangzhong mini loaf, tangzhong mochi loaf, New York hot dog, egg mayo salt bread sandwich, soboro salt bread, Otters walnut red bean bread, cheese bulgogi ciabatta, potato croquette, bulgogi pizza croquette, and more

- Real milk cream donut ₩4,200

That's what I ordered.

1F photo zone, nursing room, and 2F floor seating
Looking around every corner of the 1st floor, there's the women's restroom, a full-length mirror, and a photo zone
There's a nursing room and diaper-changing area, with high chairs out front
After 5pm on weekdays, the 2nd floor hall closes. For groups of 15+ in the evening on the 2nd floor, reserve ahead. The men's restroom on the 2nd floor is still usable.
A photo of the 2nd floor I asked someone to take on my way to the men's room. A family-friendly space with group seating and floor seating! There were customers in the group area.

Tasting notes: from chestnut latte to donuts
Everything we ordered. Looks delicious just looking at it@ FYI, the chestnut latte only comes hot

The cup itself is so cute too
Chestnut latte. There's cinnamon powder sprinkled on top, which gives it a slightly upscale feel,, warm and delicious

Real milk cream donut
The first dessert to try was the real milk cream donut. I cut it in half and wow--- the cream just overflows. There's so much cream but it's not the least bit greasy, and since the cream isn't heavy, it goes down easily without you getting sick of it. Not too sweet, just the right amount of sweet? It's just plain delicious,,,,,

Crème brûlée donut
Next up, the crazy-looking crème brûlée donut@ The coating is properly hardened so you crack it with a knife before eating
Ah, that crunch crunch,, so good. Now I want to try every donut here,,,

Macadamia vanilla cream latte
They gave me this as a complimentary service — the macadamia vanilla cream latte, a fall seasonal drink. I honestly don't drink much coffee, you know? But I'm definitely ordering this again next time,,,,, wow I was surprised how good it was ㅜㅜ You can really taste the nutty macadamia flavor, and the more you drink it the nuttier it gets. And the combo of coffee and cream is just perfect. Ugh,, I want more,,
Melon cream bread and green onion cream cheese salt bread
Now for the bakery friends. Hello there, friends
There's a reason "cream" is in the name melon cream bread. The cream is seriously overflowing. It genuinely tastes like a real Meronа (melon popsicle). Soft and,, delicious,,

Green onion cream cheese salt bread. This one doesn't skimp on cream cheese either — packed full. Green onion plus cream cheese is already a famous combo. This one nails it too. Oh, and there are outlets at the tables so it'd be great for using a laptop. I'd definitely come back@
