In early November, my close friend's family and I are heading off on a free-and-easy trip to Australia! We'd only booked the flights, with no actual itinerary sorted, so we hurried to meet up and plan things properly. Now that my older kid is in the upper grades of elementary school, coordinating schedules around academy classes and everything else has gotten pretty tricky. So when we do meet, we need to talk for a long time — which is why I went to Hands Coffee Gumi Goa-eup Branch, a Gumi brunch café and dessert spot known for letting you sit for hours with coffee and a proper meal.

Floor-to-ceiling forest views and open space, big-café vibes in Gumi
This lovely café in my neighborhood, Hands Coffee, is actually my Nth visit at this point. On my first visit, right after it opened, there was still a bit of that new-building paint smell lingering, which gave me a slight headache. But this time, after some time had passed, the smell had completely disappeared — total comfort! True to its scale as a grand two-floor big café in Gumi, one whole wall is floor-to-ceiling glass, opening up onto a gorgeous mountain view that feels like a breath of fresh air. The interior really lets you feel every seasonal change outside. From floor-seated rooms where you can stretch your legs out comfortably to group tables perfect for private conversation, it's ideal for gatherings like parent meetups. And on top of that, there's a very spacious dedicated parking lot, so there's zero stress about parking. It's my number-one recommendation for a Gumi café with parking that you can visit anytime without worry.

Is it comfortable to visit with kids?
The real reason I'd recommend this place — not just to moms raising older elementary schoolers like me, but to moms with little kids too — is how thoughtfully it's set up as a kid-friendly space. This time I came with just my friend, but seeing how neatly the kid-friendly amenities were arranged, I could tell it would be a genuinely comfortable place to bring my grown-up kids too. It's like an oasis where moms can truly relax. The moment you step in, the rich scent of specialty coffee and hand-drip coffee spreads through the air, and you instantly understand why coffee lovers have kept coming back for so long. The space is pleasant enough to make it a perfect spot to unwind with your kids. If you're looking for somewhere to take the kids in Gumi this coming weekend, this is worth a stop.

How was the jambon sandwich?
After a while of hard work planning our Australia trip, we got hungry, so we ordered the jambon sandwich as a brunch item. It was a generously sized portion, perfect for two people to share happily. The bread's crust was on the crisp and firm side, but the more you chewed, the more the bread's own nutty flavor spread through your mouth — really appealing. Inside, it was packed with salty jambon ham without holding back, paired with soft butter that added depth without being greasy. The quality was so good that it made me curious about the other brunch and dessert items too. The bakery and cake lineup looked impressive, so next time I'm definitely planning to try the sweet desserts as well. A true brunch spot I'd genuinely vouch for.

Visit tips and who it's for
- During weekend peak times, the window seats with the best views fill up fast, so if you want a prime spot with the wide-open forest view, I'd recommend arriving a bit early!
- Since it's a spacious two-floor big café, just keep a little extra eye on safety when going up and down the stairs with kids, and you'll have a perfect outing.
In the end, this is the perfect space for anyone who wants to relax amid open natural scenery while enjoying good brunch and desserts. I'd strongly recommend this Goa-eup café to anyone who wants to enjoy quality coffee with their kids in a pleasant environment, and to anyone for whom ample parking is a must. Stop by whenever you want to shake off everyday fatigue and refresh your mood.
