Gumi bakery café for green onion cream cheese salt bread: Otters
In short
Otters Jisan Saetgang Main Branch is a large two-story bakery café on Seonsan-daero in Gumi, Gyeongbuk. The visit covered green onion cream cheese salt bread, ham-cheese-garlic croissant, melon cream bread, real milk cream doughnut, and the autumn peanut cream latte, with a 1950s retro American first floor and a shoeless floor-seating second floor. Nursing room, diaper station, and baby chairs make it a solid pick for a Gumi café trip with kids.

What are the exterior and parking lot like?
Here's the exterior of Otters Jisan Saetgang Main Branch, a large café in Gumi.
This is the photo zone at the café entrance. They made a cute café character based on the otter, a natural monument found at Gumi's Jisan Saetgang Park.
The parking lot is just as huge as the café itself, so you don't need to worry about finding a spot.
Smoking area
At the far end of the parking lot there's a separate smoking area for smokers.
First floor atmosphere and seating
Every space at Otters Jisan Saetgang Main Branch is a welcome-kids zone. Dogs are also allowed (bring a carrier or stroller).
The spacious café is decorated in a 1950s retro American style.

On one side there's a self-packing area for leftover bread, and there's also a photo booth for taking souvenir photos.

The interior is spacious with wide gaps between tables, so it feels comfortable for chatting too.
Nursing room and baby chairs
Otters café has a nursing room! At the entrance there's an otter holding a pacifier in its mouth haha. Most regular cafés don't have a nursing room, so I usually ended up changing diapers in the car. But here there's a neatly maintained nursing room set up separately! Even though it's not a kids' café, having such a thoughtful space for babies is a real plus for parents visiting with children.
Both high chairs and low chairs for babies are available.
This is the photo zone in front of the women's restroom. The men's restroom is on the second floor.
Second floor floor seating and group tables
This is the view you see going up the stairs to the second floor. There's shoeless floor seating set up on the second floor. Baby chairs are provided too, but using the floor seating is convenient in many ways since you can lay a young baby down on the floor when visiting with a little one.
There are group tables as well, and the second floor has a different color mood from the first floor, so it seems like it would photograph well. With such a variety of table types in this large space, I had a hard time deciding where to sit.
There's also a photo zone on the second floor, and baby chairs are provided.
Menu lineup
Living up to its reputation as a large bakery café, Otters Jisan Saetgang Main Branch was packed not just with coffee and drinks but with all kinds of bread and doughnuts.

By the time I visited, this season's 🍁autumn latte had already been released.

The bread display was hygienically covered so dust and debris couldn't get in, and there were sooo many kinds ready to go — salt bread, melon cream bread, ciabatta, soboro corn bread, chocolate baguette, green onion cream cheese salt bread, chocolate rusk, croque monsieur, cheese bulgogi bread, plain toast bread, croissants, hot dogs, walnut red bean bread, and more!

There was also a really wide variety of doughnuts, and they even sold kids' drinks separately.
They were also selling cute Otters mugs and clear eco cups.
What we ordered and how it tasted

Our order arrived. We got melon cream bread, green onion cream cheese salt bread, soboro corn bread, real milk cream doughnut, ham-cheese-garlic croissant, peanut cream latte, and an iced Americano.

Green onion cream cheese salt bread — ₩5,000
I usually love green onion cream cheese bagels, and adding the salty crunch of salt bread was totally my type.

Ham-cheese-garlic croissant — ₩4,200
This is a croissant with ham, cheese, and garlic sauce inside. The combination was great and I didn't get sick of it.
Melon cream bread — ₩4,800
This was recommended to me, and I understood right away why it's a bestseller! Kids would probably love it too. The melon cream sauce was just sweet enough and delicious.

Real milk cream doughnut — ₩4,200
I picked this because it's the bestselling doughnut. My friend said it was really delicious too.
Soboro corn bread — ₩4,600
I picked this because I love corn baked inside bread. Maybe everything at Otters café is just delicious — every bread we picked was a hit!

Iced Americano — ₩5,000

Peanut cream latte — ₩7,000
This is this season's autumn menu item. You stir it well before drinking, and the peanut flavor wasn't too strong, blending nicely with the cream — I liked it!
Who should come here?
If you're looking for a big café in Gumi or a café to visit with kids, I'd recommend this place. With delicious, varied desserts and cute otter photo zones scattered all over the café, it's also perfect for a date course, and with a well-equipped nursing room, diaper changing station, and baby chairs, it's really great to visit with children. Plus, with plenty of group seating, it's perfect for gatherings too.
