In short

Samsol Gamjatang Main Branch (샘솔감자탕 본점) is a newly opened gamjatang and Korean restaurant on Sanghwa-ro in Dalseo, Daegu, which opened on September 5, 2026. Though known for bone dishes, the seolleongtang (10,000 won) impressed with its milky broth, tender meat, crunchy kkakdugi, and flavorful kimchi. With a wide Korean menu lineup spanning gamjatang, seolleongtang, and pork cutlet, this is a solid meal worth revisiting.

Exterior, parking, and opening event

There's a parking space right in front of the store, so parking isn't much of a worry.

To celebrate the September 5 opening, they're currently running an event: 3 servings of Ugeoji Ppyeo Haejangguk to go for 25,000 won!

Menu, prices, and what I ordered

The signature dish is Ugeoji Ppyeo Haejangguk (mustard-greens bone soup, 10,000 won), but there's a wide variety of other Korean dishes too. Gyeongyangsik Wang Donkatsu (12,000 won) / Hanwoo Yukhoe Bibimbap (14,000 won) / Yangji Seolleongtang (10,000 won) / Dogani-tang (16,000 won) / Yukjeon Mul-naengmyeon (10,000 won) / Yukjeon Bibim-naengmyeon (11,000 won) — it's great that the Korean menu lineup is so diverse.

Ah! That day I was craving a milky broth, so I ordered the seolleongtang (10,000 won). Even though this place specializes in bone dishes, it was nice that they also had a mild, clean-tasting seolleongtang. ✔️Recommended Dalseo, Daegu Korean restaurant with a diverse menu

Interior and atmosphere

Clean interior of newly opened Samsol Gamjatang

True to a newly opened Dalseo, Daegu Korean restaurant, the interior was very clean.

Hall seating at Samsol Gamjatang with floor-to-ceiling windows

The floor-to-ceiling windows gave an open, airy feeling, and the tables were spaced generously apart, making it comfortable to eat.

Table setup at Samsol Gamjatang after customers left

I took this photo after some customers had left — word of the opening had already brought in a lot of guests, and delivery orders in particular were huge. Despite being so busy, the owner was very kind, which put me in a good mood too. ✔️Recommended newly opened gamjatang restaurant in Dalseo, Daegu

How was the seolleongtang?

Side dish setup of kkakdugi, kimchi, chili peppers, onion, and ssamjang sauce

Before the main dish arrived, they set the table with side dishes — kkakdugi (radish kimchi) and kimchi that pair perfectly with seolleongtang or gamjatang, plus chili peppers, onion, and a special ssamjang sauce!

Full table spread with the hot seolleongtang served

And soon after, the hot seolleongtang arrived! It didn't take long from ordering to serving, which would be great for people in a hurry.

Large bowl of milky-broth seolleongtang

The visual alone — a big bowl generously filled with milky broth — was already impressive.

I checked the meat inside the seolleongtang first, and they'd loaded it in generously too.

I took a first spoonful of the milky broth. It was clean with no gamey smell, and had a rich flavor without tasting artificial — a seolleongtang broth that pretty much anyone would like. ✔️Recommended Dalseo, Daegu Korean restaurant for delicious seolleongtang

Adding salt to season the seolleongtang

They added salt to bring out a bit of seasoning and umami.

Tender meat and thin noodles in the seolleongtang

The meat in the seolleongtang was especially tender — it just melted in my mouth. The somyeon (thin wheat noodles) that come along with seolleongtang paired nicely with the meat too.

I suddenly craved rice, so I spooned white rice into the broth and took a big bite — instantly put me in a good mood.

Topping it off with this delicious kimchi made it even better.

Kimchi and kkakdugi

At gamjatang or gukbap places in Sangin-dong, Dalseo-gu, Daegu, the kimchi and kkakdugi really matter, right? Samsol Gamjatang's kkakdugi was crunchy, and the kimchi had great umami, so I polished off the seolleongtang and rice in no time. ✔️Recommended spot for delicious kimchi and kkakdugi in Sangin-dong, Dalseo-gu, Daegu
