Castella latte and three breads at Otter Rabbit House, Dalseo, Daegu

Today I'm writing up my visit to Otter Rabbit House (오터래빗하우스), a brunch café near Woelgwang Waterside Park! Even from the outside, the brick building tucked among the green trees had me excited for the interior!

Where to park? Street parking required

There's no separate parking lot, so you'll need to find street parking nearby! I visited on a Friday afternoon and ended up parking about a 3-minute walk away. I imagine it'd be tougher to find a spot on weekends!

Order drinks at the kiosk, bread at the counter

A kiosk greets you right as you walk in. You can choose drinks or brunch menu items here! But since I needed to pick bread, I headed to the counter instead.

For drinks, they have a signature castella latte — I don't usually drink much coffee, but since it's the signature, I gave it a try! I'll write up the drink review below!!

Looks like they freshly juice the orange juice right there from the oranges on display. I actually debated getting the orange juice too! They even wrote out the ingredient origins in a cute way — beef from Australia, pork and chicken domestic, and bacon from the US, Spain, and Canada! Looks like these go into the brunch menu items.

For takeout, bread comes wrapped in parchment paper; if you're eating in, they'll plate it for you. Isn't the plate gorgeous too? It's glass, so if you're bringing kids along, just be careful!

There was quite a variety of bread too! Apparently the castella croissant is the best-seller. I went with the castella croissant, apple pie, and corn egg tart.

The rabbit cookie isn't sold — you can only get it by writing a receipt review! I wrote one and tried it, and it was sweet and delicious~ Definitely recommend giving it a try!

Wood tones and plants — great for photos inside

While waiting for my drink, I looked around the café, and it was so pretty that every photo came out beautifully~

The wood tones, the plants, the wallpaper at the entrance — everything was so pretty that I kept taking photos!!!

I thought if I'd dressed up a bit more, I could've gotten the photo of a lifetime here. Next time I'm definitely coming dressed to the nines,,,

Make sure you dress up nicely when you visit too!!

What to grab at the self-service bar

The self-service bar is so nicely decorated — you can grab forks, knives, scissors, and straws here, and if you're having brunch, this is also where you'll find the mustard and chili sauce, so keep that in mind!

How did the castella latte and passionfruit mulled wine ade taste?

I ordered the mulled wine ade and the castella latte, with an extra shot added to the latte! Isn't the cup so stylish? They gave me a spoon along with it and I wondered why — turns out the top of the castella latte is actually bread-like in texture, so you eat it with a spoon?! It was soft and tasted pretty good. That said, it might be a bit heavy if you're drinking it right after a meal! The passionfruit mulled wine ade was refreshing and perfect as a palate cleanser after eating!

Croissant, apple pie, and corn egg tart

The breadcrumb-coated croissant had a bit of fresh cream inside — how could anything coated in breadcrumbs not taste good?! The apple pie is meant to be dipped in fresh cream, but it was well-seasoned enough to eat plain too! The corn egg tart gets a quick zap in the microwave — the combination of savory corn and egg tart is unusual, but honestly not bad at all~

A note on restroom locations

At Otter Rabbit House, the women's and men's restrooms are separate! The women's restroom is indoors, but for the men's you have to go out the back door!

Otter Rabbit House was a feast for the eyes with its stylish design and pretty drinks! It'd be a great spot to come dressed up and take some photos~!
