In short

Gankeun Galbi Seongseo Branch is an all-you-can-eat pork rib and pork belly BBQ restaurant in Ieok-dong, Dalseo-gu, Daegu. The writer parked in the 14-space lot under the building and grilled through two full platters of domestic pork belly, plus beef heart and pork skin included with the pork rib refill. There's an all-you-can-eat pork rib place in Seongseo, so I wanted to introduce it! Not just pork ribs — pork belly, makchang (grilled beef/pork intestine), even beef are all unlimited here, so you can eat until you're stuffed. Let me share the review~

Location and parking at Gankeun Galbi Seongseo Branch

📍Address: 71 Igok-dongno, Dalseo-gu, Daegu, South Korea, 2F, Gankeun Galbi ⏰Hours: Daily 12:00 - 23:30

There's a parking lot under the building, and if you follow the stairs on the left you go straight into the restaurant. It's all glass windows, so you can see people grilling meat inside from outside.

The parking lot is free to use if you're dining at the restaurant, and there's room for up to 14 cars. The lot is spacious, so even though I've come twice now I've never had trouble parking~

Lunch special and the all-you-can-eat tiers

There's also a lunch special! For 2 people, it's just ₩10,000 per person and you can eat your fill of meat! And it's not just pork rib — domestic pork belly is also all-you-can-eat, so definitely try it.

When you walk in there's a claw machine, and apparently if you write a review you get 4 tries. Good thing to order for kids if you come with them~

The inside of the restaurant is huge. Roughly eyeballing it, there were more than 13 tables for four. There seemed to be reservation-only seats too, and there's also a separate room where you can grill meat.

There are coat hooks in the corner too, so if you're worried about your clothes, keep that in mind~

Think of it as pork rib, pork belly, makchang, then premium rib meat in that order, each about ₩2,000-3,000 more to unlock.

Self-serve bar and kids' zone

This is the self-serve bar you see right when you walk in. There's meat, drinks, fried food and more all ready to go! And there's a kids' zone in the back for young children.

The kids' zone has a safe floor and is set up with a slide, a bounce toy, and more for kids to play on.

There were also claw machines tucked away where you can't see them from outside. Give the kids some coins and they'll play happily without a worry haha 😄😄

Meat, side dishes, and self-serve Hangang ramyeon

Of course the meat is all-you-can-eat! Pork rib, pork belly, makchang, and beef each have different prices for the refill option, and you bring out food that matches what you paid for. Beef heart and pork skin come included even with just the pork rib refill. Especially the beef heart and pork skin — dipped in heart sauce or bean flour, they're really delicious!

The food is always kept warm, so eat as much as you like~ I love pork, so I usually just take a bite or two of other things and fill up mostly on pork! haha

Uniquely, you can cook your own self-serve Hangang ramyeon here. You put noodles in a pot, pick a number for either soup ramyeon or Jjapaghetti, and they cook it for you.

I especially liked that the ingredients to add to the ramyeon were right there too. If you're having the soup ramyeon, cracking in an egg is the fun part 😄 I had the Jjapaghetti so I couldn't really add extras ㅜㅜ

There were also plenty of ssam (wrap) vegetables to eat with the meat. Things like garlic can be grilled on the pan too, and you can choose between sliced onion and sliced green onion depending on preference.

You can help yourself to drinks and coffee too. On the right were what looked like plum drink and orange juice. The self-serve dessert bar closes at 23:00.

You can even make your own self-serve patbingsu (red bean shaved ice)! Perfect for dessert!

In front of the kids' room there's also scoop-your-own ice cream. Reminds me of stacking cones five scoops high as a kid... haha

Meat and self-serve bar food

Fried food and chicken from the self-serve bar with vegetables set up on the table

While the meat was grilling, I grabbed some fried food and chicken from the bar for a quick bite. In the meantime I also brought over vegetables and set up the table.

When you order pork belly, they give you a round grill plate. Later if you switch to ribs, they'll swap it for a square one. After that, you replace the square plate yourself.

The meat looked really good. I don't like cuts that are all fat, but this pork belly had a nice thick, solid layer of meat. The beef heart and pork skin also had a great chewy texture.

Beef heart and pork skin

The beef heart, dipped in heart sauce, had a nice chewy, springy bite. And when beef heart isn't quite fresh it gets a distinct gamey smell, but there was none of that here, which I liked. You can get beef heart with just the pork rib refill too.

Pork skin!! I already love pork skin, and this place did it well too. There's bean flour and curry powder to dip it in, which was great.

Pork skin grilled crispy on the pan

It went well with the heart sauce too. The chewy texture held up even when grilled crispy — really delicious~🤤

Domestic pork belly laid out on the round grill plate

Two platters of domestic pork belly

Once the pork belly was sliced and laid out flat, it actually looked really good too haha. Fatty cuts of pork belly are hard for me to get through, but this one had less fat, which I liked. Grilled up, the right amount of fat made me eat even more.

Pork belly grilled to a golden brown

Grilled to a nice golden brown, it had a great savory flavor. It's domestic pork belly and it's all-you-can-eat, so I ended up going through two whole platters haha

Grilling the second platter of pork belly

Makchang

Here's the makchang we had alongside everything else. It was tasty dipped in bean flour or heart sauce too, and also good wrapped up with ssamjang (dipping sauce).

How to grill the pork ribs

This is the pork rib, which is essentially the restaurant's signature dish. If you put it on the grill and eat it right away, the flame is too strong and the meat can burn. So it's important to flip it well and cook it evenly. The cut had bone-in rib with a wide piece of meat attached.

Seasoned pork rib with a wide piece of meat attached to the bone

The pork rib comes pre-seasoned, so it tastes great even just grilled plain. Wrapping it with rice or a simple onion sauce is already perfect. The seasoning isn't too salty, so it worked well overall paired with other sauces too.

Pork ribs cooking on the square grill plate

And since the bone is thick, it's best to just give up on one side and grill accordingly. Cook both sides a bit, then leave it resting on one side and it cooks through on its own. Then eat from the side that didn't burn~

To sum up

If you're looking for a good place to eat in Seongseo, Daegu and want an all-you-can-eat spot where you can really fill up on meat, Gankeun Galbi Seongseo Branch seems like a solid choice! It's not just pork rib — domestic pork belly is all-you-can-eat too, along with makchang and beef, so you can eat however you like. Best of all, the parking is spacious and there's a kids' zone, so it's an easy place to bring the whole family without stress. Overall, a very satisfying restaurant!
