Pohang seafood restaurant feast: Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang
In short
Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang is a seafood restaurant in Jukdo Market, Pohang, Gyeongbuk. On a birthday trip, we ordered the two-person snow crab set, served with Bakdal snow crab, sashimi, seafood, mulhoe, and soy-marinated crab. Verdict: a satisfying choice for a generously packed seafood meal in Pohang.

I ended up going to Pohang for a friend's birthday trip, and Pohang is famous for Jukdo Market, right? So of course we went and had snow crab!

Jukdo Market has so much to look at besides snow crab—sashimi, seafood, shrimp, and all kinds of things to eat! As you wander around, every shop has tanks full of snow crabs, so you really feel like you've arrived in Pohang haha. There is lots of water on the floor, so definitely avoid long pants that drag on the ground!

We looked around at several places, then went into Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang because it was clean and quite spacious :)
A spacious, clean interior in Jukdo Market
As you look around, Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang might be the cleanest and most spacious place in Jukdo Market! It seems great for groups, and for families too!
They even give you a soft drink for posting a receipt review haha. I love events like this!
Snow crab set menu

Since we had come for snow crab, we ordered the snow crab set without hesitation! I love snow crab, so even before the trip I kept saying that we had to eat it if we went to Pohang hahaha. When we visited, the set was prepared with Bakdal snow crab, so we waited even more excitedly haha.

A generous table of dishes before the snow crab
Wow...! We were only getting started, but the table was practically groaning under all the food! Soy-marinated crab, corn, sliced bread, mulhoe (spicy cold raw-fish soup), sashimi, and more…

And that wasn't all…!! So much came out before the snow crab.. Sashimi, seafood, soup, even squid… We did order the two-person set, right? Hahaha 😂

The quality of the food was so good, too. Nothing tasted fishy; it felt like it had been pulled straight from the sea and served right away haha. There was even nakji tangtangi (chopped live octopus), which I love—this place is the bestㅠㅠ

Meaty Bakdal snow crab and crab-shell fried rice
At last, the Bakdal snow crab we'd been waiting for appeared 🦀 It looked delicious from the start, but best of all, it was packed with meat! Pulling the meat right out of the legs, it was soft and sweet, with no fishiness at all, so I kept reaching for more haha. How full the crab is matters with snow crab, and the crab we had that day was plump and had a great yield, so I was really satisfied! Even just the crab filled the two of us up quite a bit 😂
Crab-shell fried rice is essential too, right? It's a total rice thief haha. It was a little mild on its own, so I ate it with the soy-marinated crab and the seasoning was just right!!

Of course, you can't leave out maeuntang (spicy fish stew) haha. It had lots of fish in it, and it was the kind of stew that makes you want soju, but we couldn't drink because we had plans afterward.
Final thoughts on the Jukdo Market snow crab set
Overall, there was such a variety of food and the portions were so generous that the two of us left completely full! I especially liked that, beyond the snow crab, there were so many accompanying dishes—sashimi, seafood, mulhoe, soy-marinated crab, and more. The interior was also spacious and clean, so it seems like a nice choice for a family meal or a visit with friends haha. If you want a generous helping of snow crab or sashimi at Pohang's Jukdo Market, I think Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang is worth a visit! If I come back to Pohang, I'm definitely trying the seafood ramen that I missed this time 😂🦀
