Pohang conveyor sushi, 20 plates: Hojueseo on Hoejeon Chobap
In short
Hojueseo on Hoejeon Chobap is a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant in Munduk, Pohang, Gyeongbuk. During a business trip, I had 20 plates, from chawanmushi to white fish, salmon, red fish, and sides, all for 2,200 won per plate. Hojueseo on Hoejeon Chobap is a satisfying choice for a generously varied sushi meal at one flat price.

Flat-price conveyor sushi in Munduk, Pohang
I was staying in Munduk, Pohang, because I had work near POSCO. I visited Hojueseo on Hoejeon Chobap (호주에서 온 회전초밥), near Wondong Intersection. It is a great conveyor-belt sushi spot in Pohang for business travelers like me or Munduk locals nearby.

There is parking in front of the restaurant, so it is easy to visit by car.

What are the seating and conveyor rail like?
The restaurant was fairly spacious, with lots of seats. Perhaps because many families visit, there were several four-person tables too. There were guests of all ages, from children to parents, and it was busy even though it is a newer popular spot.

There are bar seats too, making this a good Munduk, Pohang spot for dining alone or for a date. The conveyor rail runs in front of every table, so ordering is easy from any seat. I was seated quite far from the rail, but it was not inconvenient at all, and I liked that I could order anything that was not there.

Every plate is ₩2,200, with tablet ordering
As you would expect from a good conveyor-belt sushi restaurant in Pohang, you simply take the plates you want from the rail. Every plate is ₩2,200, so the bill is easy to work out and the price is great! Regular sushi came with 2 pieces, while premium sushi came with 1 piece.

If the item you want is not on the rail or is hard to find, just order it on the tablet. For reference, this Pohang restaurant allows corkage of up to one bottle, with no restriction on the type of alcohol. That may be useful to know if you need it.

Once I sat down, they first served a warm broth. It was interesting and nice that it came in a cup. Cutlery, wasabi, soy sauce, and plates are on the table, while rakkyo (pickled scallion bulbs) and pickled ginger are on the rail, so you can take as much as you want.

There were truly so many kinds of sushi, and they looked fresh and high-quality at a glance. Along with sushi, there were desserts and futomaki (thick sushi rolls), so I could eat to my heart's content.
My 20-plate sushi lineup
I was wondering what to choose for my first plate, but chawanmushi (steamed egg custard) came right by, so I had it immediately. It was soft and warm—the perfect way to start.

I started with white-fish sushi such as flounder, flounder fin, and sea bream. True to the basics of good sushi, the amount of shari (seasoned sushi rice) was just right, and the fish was thick, fresh, and delicious. There was plain sushi as well as pieces topped with kimchi and aged kimchi, which made it fun to try different kinds.

The salmon was seriously amazing. It was wonderfully rich, but it just disappeared when I ate it~ And you know it tastes even better when you squeeze the lemon that comes with it, right?

There were red-fish options too, including tuna and yellowtail. It was so enjoyable to try the different combinations, and the quality was great. I did not have huge expectations because it is a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant, but it outdid many regular sushi restaurants.

There were plenty of options like eel and shrimp, too!

Even if you are visiting with children or someone who is not especially into sushi, it is no problem because they also have inari sushi (seasoned tofu-pouch sushi) and California rolls.

The side dishes are served freshly fried, so you need to order them on the tablet. They were a nice special treat to have midway through the sushi!!

I ate 20 plates in total. You can also get one complimentary plate by joining the Naver review event. I was satisfied with this conveyor-belt sushi spot in Pohang, where every plate costs ₩2,200 regardless of the sushi type and the sushi quality is great. If you are looking for a good restaurant in Munduk, Pohang, I recommend giving it a visit.
