This is Mikodam, the Korean set-menu restaurant I rushed to with him for lunch and was seriously happy with. I wanted something healthy-feeling and Korean, and the range of main menu options made it even more filling — a real find near Balsan Station.

Parking and the dining room at Mikodam Magok-Balsan Branch
Mikodam Magok-Balsan Branch is a Balsan Station Korean restaurant with very convenient parking. The building connects to a 4-story parking structure with room for a whopping 77 cars.

Mikodam really is easy to park at for a Balsan Station restaurant. So it seems like it'd be convenient for family visits or group gatherings too :D

The interior was also quite spacious. With partitions here and there, there were private-feeling spots even in the open hall—
There are also 2 group rooms, so if you need a spot for a family gathering or a work dinner, book ahead. And there's even a birthday event where you get free beef jeon if you reserve for a birthday — honestly no reason not to visit if you're looking for a Korean restaurant near Balsan Station!
What comes in Mikodam's 46,000 won set for two
Mikodam's set for two is ₩46,000, and sets come in 2-, 3-, and 4-person sizes. You pick 1 serving of seaweed soup, 1 serving of cockle bibim, and 1 side dish.

- 1 seaweed soup / beef, flounder, or abalone (+₩4,000)
- 1 cockle bibim / soy sauce or vinegar dressing
- 1 side dish / beef jeon, Jeju soy crab, or LA galbi (+₩20,000)
We went with beef seaweed soup, soy-sauce cockle bibim, and beef jeon.

Personally I love these individually wrapped spoons and chopsticks haha

The whole set for two, served! Wow... it's genuinely generous. Normally I eat a simple lunch, but this day it was so good I totally overate, haha.

Everything was tasty on its own and the variety was great too! He said he'd keep this in mind for a future meal with a foreign business partner, lol.

Side dishes at Mikodam, refillable right up to the pork bulgogi
At Mikodam Magok-Balsan Branch, the standard banchan (side dishes) — from the three-color namul to the pork bulgogi — are all refillable. Let me introduce the sides that came out first.

- Three-color namul — bracken fern, mung bean sprouts, seasoned bok choy
- Pickled vegetables
- Roasted seaweed with soy sauce
- Cold salad

- Fresh kimchi (geotjeori)
- Chicory salad

Japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), pork bulgogi. All of these are refillable too #_# Even the pork bulgogi gets refilled, seriously lol. You could probably polish off a whole bowl of rice with just the pork bulgogi alone.

A big, generous cut of grilled mackerel. I'd been craving grilled fish lately, and to think I'd get it at a Korean restaurant near Balsan Station! The mackerel was grilled beautifully too +_+
How do the flounder seaweed soup, beef jeon and cockle bibim taste?
Mikodam's flounder seaweed soup was clean and mild, the beef jeon (pan-fried beef slices) came out hot right off the pan, and the cockle bibim wasn't too salty — perfect for mixing into rice.

Flounder seaweed soup. Beef seaweed soup is common, but flounder seaweed soup is honestly hard to find, right?
Slurping down the mild, clean broth along with the tender flounder meat — so good!

Beef jeon. It also came out freshly pan-fried, piping hot. Served with a sweet-and-tangy chive salad.
Topped with the chive salad, it was so good... no really, at this price, this spread! We kept saying how great this was the whole meal, haha.

Cockle bibim. Not overly salty, perfect for mixing into rice right away. The cockle meat itself was nice and plump too—

Mixed together with the chopped chives, how good could that possibly be?! Haha. And wrapping it in the crispy gomchi seaweed was also great.

On top of that, we also had the mackerel and the pork bulgogi, haha. It was truly a Korean set meal enjoyed in a varied, colorful way. If you're looking for a hearty Korean restaurant near Balsan Station, I'd recommend Mikodam without hesitation.
Mikodam's dessert corner: puffed corn, plum tea and sikhye

Even the dessert was the best. We happily finished off piping-hot roasted corn kept warm in a rice cooker, along with plum tea and sikhye (sweet rice punch).
Is Mikodam worth it? Final thoughts
Mild flounder seaweed soup, plump cockle bibim, nicely browned beef jeon, and a well-arranged spread of side dishes from grilled mackerel to pork bulgogi — this Balsan Station restaurant Mikodam had every dish taste great, and it was a satisfying visit overall.
It seems like a great place to bring your parents, and it'd also work well for family gatherings or group meetups bb The price was reasonable too, which made it even better. Ate very well here ♥
