Ihwajeong Galbi Myeongga Magok-Balsan Branch is a 4-5 minute walk from Exit 4 of Balsan Station, open daily from 11:00 to 22:00 with last order at 20:30. It's a Deungchon-dong Korean BBQ spot open 365 days a year with no break time.

A classy atmosphere, a spacious and pleasant hall, and staff with the dedication of true grill masters who cook everything for you. This Balsan Station Korean BBQ turned into my personal favorite pork rib spot.

Inside Ihwajeong: why the hall works for group dinners and family meals

If you're looking for a Balsan Station BBQ restaurant for a Magok group dinner, family gathering, or important meeting, Ihwajeong Galbi Myeongga is my top pick, no question. I dropped in without expecting much and ended up saving it as my go-to Magok-Balsan pork rib spot.

From the entrance, the hall is impressively spacious, clean, and comfortable — great for taking parents, important guests, or elders. The tabletops are proper marble, and the tables have plenty of room between them. There's group seating too, so I genuinely recommend it as a gathering spot for Magok-Balsan get-togethers.

What I loved most, though, was the staff's skill in grilling the ribs — having a true meat master in this spacious, comfortable Magok BBQ restaurant grill all the pork ribs deliciously for us was the most satisfying part. Pork ribs are easy to burn if you get the timing wrong, and when you go with a group, whoever ends up grilling often struggles to join the conversation. But here, the grill master just handled it all skillfully, and so deliciously too! It was so nice not having to worry about grilling and just being able to chat and eat comfortably.

Ihwajeong's menu and ₩10,000 corkage — you can bring your own wine

Corkage at Ihwajeong Galbi Myeongga is ₩10,000, and the main menu includes hanwoo raw galbi, hanwoo hanger steak, marinated beef king galbi, marinated pork galbi, and hanwoo yukhoe. For meals, there's doenjang jjigae and both water and spicy naengmyeon.

What we ordered at Ihwajeong: ₩62,000 for two

Our total bill for two at Ihwajeong Galbi Myeongga was ₩62,000. That's marinated pork ribs 300g x2 for ₩46,000, water naengmyeon ₩8,000, bibim naengmyeon ₩8,000, plus a free omija (schisandra berry) ade from the Naver review event.

Close-up of 144-hour cross-aged marinated pork ribs

Using only carefully selected premium pork shoulder, Ihwajeong Galbi Myeongga's pork ribs are known for their firm texture and savory flavor. They say the meat is tenderized to the max through a patented 144-hour cross-aging process, with the marinade made from naturally grated organic pear to fill it with deep flavor — a premium marinated pork rib dish.

How do Ihwajeong's marinated pork ribs taste at ₩23,000 per 300g?

300g of pork ribs for ₩23,000 is absolutely worth every won — this is a life-changing pork rib. Thanks to the 144-hour cross-aging, the meat keeps its clean flavor and texture while somehow melting in your mouth like snow. It was genuinely so, so good. Two servings for two people is just the right amount, not skimpy at all, but honestly it was so delicious that I feel like two people could easily eat 3-4 servings straight through haha.

Look at the color on these Balsan Station pork ribs 😍 The charcoal heat is great, and above all, the staff member's hands were incredibly fast and precise — they grill it once like a first pass, then grill it again a second time, and since we were hungry, having everything grilled quickly felt like pure paradise 😆

Nice touch — the water and spicy naengmyeon arrived timed perfectly with the finished pork ribs!

The side dishes all tasted like home cooking too, healthy and well-seasoned across the board. Salad, potato salad, tangpyeongchae (mung bean jelly salad), pickles, and more — all refillable.

Naengmyeon with pork ribs — this is paradise. Getting ready to dig in fast!

Pork ribs on top of bibim naengmyeon are amazing, but personally, in hot summer I prefer water naengmyeon more! The broth was well-seasoned, and it was a total pork-rib thief haha.

How staff split-grill your 600g of pork ribs in two batches

At Ihwajeong Galbi Myeongga, out of the 600g of pork you order, staff grill half first, and once you finish that, they come back and grill the remaining half. There's no lull in between — haha, we got to keep eating without any interruption.

With the patented 144-hour cross-aging that prevents juice loss, and natural tenderizing with organic pear, this Magok pork rib might be one of the top three pork ribs I've ever had. Even though the meat is tender, it still has texture, and the more you chew, the deeper and richer the natural flavor gets — it was so surprising that my friend and I kept raving about it as we ate. All the pork ribs I've had before this weren't real pork ribs. Writing this much detail really shows how much I enjoyed this life-changing pork rib spot 🤤🤤

Dessert at Ihwajeong: chilled pear and Mungyeong omija ade

For dessert, they serve one sweet-tart pear per person, and the 100% Mungyeong omija (schisandra berry) ade is free if you write a Naver review.

A healthy flavor with all five tastes coming through — sweet, sour, and more. It's not a syrupy-sweet ade but a classy one where the real omija fruit flavor really comes through, so I'd recommend it over soda or cola.

The most genuinely delicious pork ribs I've had among all the Korean BBQ spots I've tried in Gangseo's Magok and Deungchon-dong — a life-changing pork rib restaurant near Balsan Station: Ihwajeong Galbi Myeongga
