Jamsil family dinner after Lotte World with burrata salad: Allegro

In short

Allegro is a Western-style restaurant with live jazz on the 3rd floor near Songnaru Station, at Olympic-ro 32-gil, Songpa-gu, Seoul. After a day at Lotte World, the writer and her son stopped by for sous-vide pork neck steak, burrata salad, orange juice, and a limoncello spritz. The pork neck was crisp outside and juicy inside, kid-approved, while the evening jazz made it feel like a proper Bangi-dong bar for a relaxed drink.

My family visits Lotte World with my son pretty often, so we end up in Jamsil a lot. Naturally, hunting down good restaurants in the area has become one of our little pleasures.

That day, my son kept saying "I want fries!" from the afternoon on. Then he suddenly wanted meat too, so we decided to have Western food for a change. Looking for a place with kid-friendly options, we ended up at Allegro, a well-known spot in Jamsil. After a fun day at Lotte World, off we went for a nice dinner :)

Good with kids, and like a Bangi-dong bar at night

Allegro was great for a meal with my son, but the vibe seemed to shift completely in the evening. With live jazz playing, it felt like a good spot for a light drink alongside your food — worth checking out if you're looking for a Bangi-dong bar too.

We came with my son this time, but I found myself thinking I'd love to come back for dinner without him someday, and enjoy a relaxed meal while listening to the jazz.

How's the parking?

One thing to keep in mind is parking. Allegro's own parking isn't very convenient, so I'd recommend taking public transit if you can. If you're driving, there's a nearby lot where you can park for ₩10,000 for 3 hours.

Live jazz after a long while

Listening to the jazz brought back old memories. Before we had our son, my husband and I used to go out to hear live jazz fairly often. Back then, sipping a drink with good food in a nice atmosphere while jazz played was one of my favorite things.

Raising a kid, I'd kind of forgotten about that kind of time for a while, but hearing jazz again brought it all back. Maybe that's why, these days, when I look for a Bangi-dong bar, I find myself drawn less to loud, lively places and more to spots like this where you can relax with music.

Sous-vide pork neck steak, burrata salad, limoncello spritz

The sous-vide pork neck steak, the burrata salad, and orange juice for my son were set down one by one, beautifully plated. I also ordered a limoncello spritz that day. With great food and a pretty presentation, the table quickly turned into a gorgeous spread. Allegro really lives up to its reputation as a Jamsil Western food favorite.

I hope my son and I can keep eating good food and going to fun places together like this every day. These small moments will add up into good memories for both of us someday, right? :)

Pork neck, but crisp outside and juicy inside

The sous-vide pork neck steak was genuinely surprising. It's pork neck, but somehow so tender and delicious! None of that usual dryness pork neck can have — the outside was slightly crisp while the inside stayed juicy. Ah, so this is what people mean by "crisp outside, juicy inside," I thought. My meat-loving son enjoyed it too, so it worked well for eating with a kid.

How did the burrata salad go over with a kid?

I ordered the burrata salad for my son. Seeing it look so pretty, he thought about trying a bite, but the basil must have smelled unfamiliar, because he said, "I'm not eating that!" I'd hoped, with a mother's wishful thinking, that he'd like it too, but a kid's palate never quite goes the way you plan. So I ended up enjoying the burrata salad myself. :)

A glass of limoncello spritz

I also had a limoncello spritz for the first time in a while. It was tangy and sweet, and it went down so easily that I felt the alcohol hit before I'd even had many sips. Maybe that's because it had been a while since I'd had a drink. Still, it was nice to enjoy a glass happily alongside great food.

A special evening with my son

We had a wonderful dinner together in a great atmosphere. With live jazz and delicious food, it turned into an evening a little different from the usual. At Allegro, known as a favorite Jamsil spot for Western food, I want to hold on to moments like this with my son as pretty memories, one by one. :)

After playing hard at Lotte World and then having a great dinner with my son, the whole day felt complete. Hearing jazz again after so long brought back memories, and there was something quietly moving about sharing that kind of time with my son now.

It's a great place to visit with kids, but in the evening it also seems like a nice spot to enjoy a light drink over a meal in a good atmosphere — worth a mention for anyone looking for a Bangi-dong bar. An evening at Allegro, a well-loved Jamsil spot for Western food and jazz, and one more good memory made with my son. :)
