Vongole and sous-vide pork steak for lunch at Allegro, Songpa
In short
Allegro is a jazz restaurant on the 3rd floor of a building near Songpanaru Station in Songpa, Seoul. Visiting with a friend during daytime, they ordered sous-vide pork steak, vongole pasta, and prosciutto potato salad, though they missed the jazz shows which run in the evening. The pasta could have used more spice but the pork was tender and juicy, making this a good pick for anniversaries or special get-togethers.

The exterior and entrance

This weekend I had a Jamsil date with a friend in Seoul~ I was looking for a good restaurant in Jamsil that I hadn't tried in a while, and found this place near Songpanaru Station called "Allegro"!!
Allegro is on the 3rd floor of the building! There's an elevator.
The interior atmosphere and jazz show

Allegro really has such a great atmosphere! It's a place where you can enjoy delicious food along with a jazz performance and music!
The jazz shows run in the evening, split into set 1 and set 2, and there's a separate ticket price! ₩10,000 per person on weekdays, ₩15,000 on Fri/Sat. We visited during the day so we didn't get to see the jazz show! ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

The tables are set up so you can watch the stage while you eat. The lighting was soft and dim, which made the atmosphere even better.
There are window seats too, and the window view is Lotte Tower!! I bet the sunset view would be gorgeous.
The interior is very clean and has a classy, upscale jazz bar vibe.
What we ordered and the prices

We ordered the sous-vide pork steak (₩33,000), vongole pasta (₩20,000), prosciutto potato salad (₩18,000), a coke, and an orange juice!
We didn't order wine, but I'd recommend a glass while watching the show!

This is the pre-meal bread. They baked it fresh so it was warm.
Prosciutto potato salad

The potato salad came out first. Wow, isn't it too pretty?.... Almost too pretty to eat...🥹 But I'll try it anyway?
They're round, cute baby potatoes. There's a cream cheese? yogurt? sauce underneath, with potato, prosciutto, and tomato on top.
Dipping the potato in the sauce and eating it with the tomato was so good — sweet and salty!

Vongole pasta
Next up is the vongole.

We were waiting to take photos with everything together before eating, but they told us pasta gets less tasty when it cools, so I took a bite before the pork steak came out ㅠㅠ

Hmm, I wish it had been a bit spicier, but it was still really good. Really clean flavor! I basically inhaled the pasta in single bites. There were plenty of clams too, and you could really taste that distinct clam umami.

Sous-vide pork steak
Last but not least, the pork steak we'd been waiting for.

I took a full shot while eating. I only ate the back part of the potatoes so it would look like I hadn't touched it yet lol.
Eating this while watching the jazz show would be even better atmosphere, right???
After we finished taking photos and I tried to cut the meat myself, staff took it back and cut it for us! Nice, nice.

Maybe because it was cooked sous-vide, the meat was so tender and even more moist. The sauce was especially delicious. And the juiciness of the meat was insane!

And even the fries as a side were ...ridiculously good. I dipped the fries in the potato salad sauce again lol.
Final thoughts — what kind of day to visit
Allegro was a restaurant with such a great atmosphere. I think it'd be great to visit for an anniversary or a special get-together.
And even though we didn't get to see the jazz show, I think it'd be even better to visit on a day when there's a performance! Being able to enjoy live music together is probably the biggest strength of this place.
The food was also so delicious! I hadn't had Western food in a while, and eating it again after so long was amazing haha. Recommended Jamsil restaurant!
