Korean restaurant in Seosan for haejangguk and bulgogi: Ilpum Yangpyeong

In short

Ilpum Yangpyeong Haejangguk Seosan Seongyeon Branch is a Korean restaurant in Seosan, Chungnam, serving haejangguk and ttukbaegi bulgogi. My family enjoyed ttukbaegi bulgogi, pork bone haejangguk, and Korean beef head soup, with generous meat and glass noodles. A great choice for a group lunch or a post-drinking recovery meal in Seongyeon.

Today’s review is of Ilpum Yangpyeong Haejangguk Seosan Seongyeon Branch (일품양평해장국 서산성연점), a great haejangguk spot in Seongyeon, Seosan! I went with my family and we had three dishes!! Ttukbaegi bulgogi, pork bone haejangguk, and Korean beef head soup with rice.

What are the hours and parking like?

There are no days off and no break time, and they are open from early morning until late at night..! If you get hungry at an awkward hour in Seongyeon, this is an option you can head straight to!!

First of all, the restaurant’s parking lot is really spacious.

Spacious restaurant parking lot

It looks like it can fit about five cars, and there were cars lined up along the side too, so parking should not be a worry. I think you can just park around the back!

A spacious restaurant with a new-building feel

First off, it is super, super spacious and feels like a new building??? It seems like it has not been open for very long.

Restaurant exterior with a new-building feel

Maybe because of that, it is very clean. It does not have that damp...? sticky...? feeling you sometimes get just from the outside of a typical haejangguk restaurant.

The interior is also really spacious. It seems great for company group visits.

Spacious indoor dining area

There are lots of tables, and the spacing between them is quite generous too.

Dining table set with the basics

The tables come basically set like this.

A haejangguk restaurant that also has ttukbaegi bulgogi

It is technically a haejangguk restaurant, but the menu is very, very extensive. That means I get to choose my favorite!!! Pork bone haejangguk and sundae-guk (Korean sausage soup) are normally my top picks, but the moment I saw they had ttukbaegi bulgogi, I chose it right away. Even among haejangguk places, the ones that sell ttukbaegi bulgogi are seriously few and far between ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ So of course I picked my beloved ttukbaegi bulgogi.

Kkakdugi and the self-service bar

For haejangguk, kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) is all you need as a side dish.

Delicious-looking kkakdugi.

You can refill the side dishes at the self-service bar. Scissors, plates, and other things you may need are there too! The cleanliness was good good.

What my family ordered

Ttukbaegi bulgogi ₩12,000

My ttukbaegi bulgogi pick!!! Honestly, ttukbaegi bulgogi looks delicious even just in photos, but yes, it really was deliciousㅠ It tasted great, and there was lots of meat and lots of glass noodles, so I thought the portion was pretty generous too!!

This was my brother’s pick!! What is there even to say about pork bone haejangguk? He said it was so delicious that he scraped the bowl clean, haha.

Korean beef head soup with rice ₩13,000

This was my dad’s pick. It had glass noodles and meat in it too, and he said he had a filling, satisfying meal!!

Pork bone haejangguk is actually scarier because it is such a familiar flavor. My mom enjoyed it so much, haha.

Hehe, no matter how much meat I ate, more just kept appearing. I love ttukbaegi bulgogi so much.. It is so delicious and makes me so happy,,

A meal with three kkakdugi refills

Empty dishes after the meal

Heheh,,, I refilled the kkakdugi three times and happily slurped up every last bit of the gukbap (rice soup), broth included, haha. I brought my parents and brother here, and everyone was satisfied!!! So, so good for a meal.

Coffee available after the meal

You can have coffee on your way out too!!
