Last weekend, I went out for a meal with my husband and daughter. We hardly cook at home… and since I eat out for lunch at work too, unless I deliberately pack a salad, I do not get many chances to eat vegetables. So I regularly(?) seek out all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu and wolnamssam (Vietnamese fresh spring roll) places for the sake of my body. This time, we went to Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch.

A great restaurant near Namwirye Station: Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch

To give you the conclusion first, it was such a satisfying meal that I have to call it a great restaurant near Namwirye Station(!) Because even the meat was unlimited 😊

Parking and the atmosphere for family gatherings

It is on the third floor of G&G Plaza, and the underground parking lot was spacious enough that even beginner drivers could park comfortably. They offer up to 3 hours of free parking after your meal, so we could relax throughout lunch. I think that is a huge plus when you are looking for a restaurant near Namwirye Station.

The tables were generously spaced and nicely divided by partitions, so I thought it was perfect for a family gathering. We arrived only a few minutes after the weekend break time ended, yet there were already lots of people. During peak hours, there was even a wait. Keep that in mind when you visit!

All-you-can-eat prices and the self-service bar

You order on a tablet, then bring your ingredients from the self-service bar. Weekday lunch is ₩17,900 per adult, while weekday dinner, weekends, and public holidays are ₩21,900, which felt like excellent value considering prices these days. The 120-minute time limit was generous, too. And apparently, takeout is available as well.

After ordering, off we went to fill our plates~ The self-service bar and the restaurant overall were kept so clean that I felt reassured about visiting with a child! It was seriously spotless, haha.

Starting with vegetables, beef, and split broth

Dadam Shabu Shabu is an all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu spot in Wirye where you can enjoy more than 40 types of fresh vegetables and beef—carefully selected by a Garak Market wholesaler with 20 years of experience—plus wolnamssam, kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup), juk (rice porridge), and desserts. We chose half mild clear broth and half spicy broth. There was bok choy, bean sprouts, napa cabbage, all kinds of mushrooms, plus rice cakes, fish balls, and fried tofu; the vegetables looked as lively as if they had just been picked from the field, haha. I think their vegetable freshness must rank among the best of Wirye shabu-shabu restaurants!!!

The meat station was generously stocked with tender beef chuck and savory thin-sliced beef belly. >_< I loved the unlimited format, where we could take as much as we wanted without feeling self-conscious!!! So many all-you-can-eat places make you ask for another bowl over and over, you know ㅠㅠ

There was also an ingredient station for fried rice,

and even bowls of warm water for making wolnamssam. You simply pour cooled water into a separate disposal area, then refill the bowl and use it again.

First, we packed the pot with all kinds of vegetables and let them cook, then briefly swished the beef through. The clear broth had a clean, deep savory flavor, while the spicy broth had a pleasantly punchy heat that cut right through any richness.

The order we ate the wraps, kalguksu, and juk

By the way, there are three sauces at the self-service bar! Peanut sauce, chili sauce, and soy sauce. Dipping things however we liked meant there was no time to get bored—another strength of Dadam Shabu Shabu near Namwirye Station.

Then it was wolnamssam time! We picked only the ingredients we wanted without worrying about anyone else, loaded up fresh vegetables and meat, and made our wraps. They could not possibly have been more delicious!

Even after we had filled up on shabu-shabu and meat, the course was not over yet hahaha.

Savory juk made in the broth

We finished the first round by adding chewy fresh kalguksu noodles, then made savory juk in the richly simmered broth with rice, egg, and roasted seaweed flakes. Just as Koreans feel they have to eat fried rice, you have to have kalguksu and juk when you eat shabu-shabu, right?

After the meal, it was coffee and soft-serve ice cream time~ We finished on a sweet, cool note.
