Wood-fired pizza in Haenggung-dong, Suwon: where to park at The European Haenggung Main Branch
I've been craving wood-fired pizza so much lately, and I heard there's a famous spot for it in Haenggung-dong, so I visited The European Haenggung Main Branch.
One thing to watch out for!! Parking in the Haenggung-dong public lot is seriously tough, so make sure to arrive well before your reservation time!!!

After circling around forever to park, I barely made it in time for my reservation at The European. If you don't want to wait, I recommend booking ahead through Catch Table.
Naver reservations seem possible too!! If you order a solo menu, adding just ₩4,000 on weekdays gets you a baguette + soup + drink?? I'm definitely coming on a weekday next time.

Is The European Haenggung Main Branch a good spot for a blind date?
From outside, the place looked really small, but starting from the entrance area,

it turned out to have a surprisingly big interior all the way inside. The tables were spaced far apart too, which gave off a perfect Haenggung-dong blind-date vibe?? A few of the tables next to us actually did look like they were on dates haha.

I was so thirsty I gulped down water as soon as I sat down. The tableware here felt clean and upscale, honestly impressive.

QR ordering and the menu at The European Haenggung Main Branch
At The European Haenggung Main Branch, you order through the QR code on the table!! It was convenient being able to browse the menu easily right from my seat. Write a review and get a Sprite!!
There were side dishes too, but skipping those for now! Feels like something good to order one of if you come with a group.

The pizza selection was insane, but burrata cheese was non-negotiable!!! I wanted a pizza topped with it, and figured I might as well pick from the signatures.

Decided on the Signature Rucola Hamon Burrata Pizza (₩31,000). I just love rucola, hamon, and burrata, all of them.
Beyond pizza, there were tons of main dishes that all looked delicious, and after some deliberation I went with the Beef Ragu Fresh Pasta (₩22,000) !! There were pasta types you don't see elsewhere, like conchiglie, fresh noodles, and rigatoni !!
And they even sell T-bone steak at The European Haenggung branch, wow. Feels like a good spot for anniversaries too??
Drinks ranged from organic fruit juices to a huge variety of wines !!

Here's what the actual pizza dough looks like !!

And here's the actual wood-fired oven !! Ah,, just thinking about that pizza got me excited.

So many wine options on the QR menu. This would be a great spot for a glass of wine in the evening too.

Took this photo once the crowd cleared out — definitely gives off a perfect blind-date feel. There's group seating too, so it's totally doable for family gatherings.

Since I drove, two glasses of Coke it is~

Beef ragu fresh pasta, 22,000 won: the poached egg yolk is the point
First to arrive was the Beef Ragu Fresh Pasta (₩22,000).

Nothing fancy on the side, but it came with radish and carrot pickles !!

Signature rucola, jamon and burrata wood-fired pizza, 31,000 won
The Signature Rucola Hamon Burrata (₩31,000), and the wood-fired pizza came out right away. At first I thought, is this a bit small?? but as I ate it, it turned out to be a pretty filling size.

Look at this gorgeous visual, piled high with toppings !!
First off, the pasta had a poached egg on top !! Pop the yolk! Mix it in~,, and imagine how creamy it gets.

The power of a perfectly runny yolk. Egg lovers would go crazy for this.

There was plenty of beef to chew on, and the pasta was nicely creamy and salty, which worked surprisingly well paired with the pizza.

Our pasta disappeared faster than expected.

And then, splitting open the burrata on top of the pizza!!

Ah, hamon, tomato, basil, and burrata cheese — isn't that the perfect wood-fired pizza combo.

The rucola cut through the richness, so I could keep eating it endlessly.

Why The European Haenggung Main Branch works for a Haenggung-dong date
They even have wifi info~~ If you're visiting Haenggung-dong and craving wood-fired pizza !! or looking for a Haenggung-dong date or blind-date restaurant, I genuinely, wholeheartedly recommend The European Haenggung branch.
