Incheon grilled lamb restaurant, two servings of ribs: Neukdaewa Yang

A lamb restaurant opened up in the Gulpocheon food alley in Samsan-dong? The eye-catching sign made me want to check it out, so my husband and I visited "Neukdaewa Yang" on the weekend and enjoyed lamb skewers and lamb ribs :)

Where is Neukdaewa Yang Samsan, and what is the restaurant like?

Neukdaewa Yang Samsan is a 5-minute walk from Exit 8 of Gulpocheon Station — just take the elevator up to the 2nd floor. It's not far from the exit toward Lotte Mart, so it's easy to find. The yellow sign made it easy to spot.

There's separate seating set up for group gatherings, so it also looked like a good spot for company dinners or group get-togethers.

The emotional plant-filled interior design and the spacious, comfortable atmosphere really stood out. There are lush plants everywhere, a large mirror, and even a photo zone. Baby chairs are also available, so it's plenty family-friendly too.

Every table comes set with 6 house-made sauces and seasonings.

Menu and how to order at Neukdaewa Yang

At Neukdaewa Yang Samsan you order comfortably from your seat via tablet, and there's a wide range of set menus to choose from depending on party size — from the Signature Lamb Rib Set to the Couple Set and the Family Set.

What the self-serve corner has

The self-serve bar had everything neatly laid out — side dishes, tableware, ice, even aprons — so it was nice to just grab what you needed yourself.

What we ordered was: signature lamb ribs for two, lamb skewers for one, jisamseon, and a beer plus a non-alcoholic beer.

Two servings of signature lamb ribs: was there any gamey smell?

Neukdaewa Yang's signature lamb ribs come with 3 pieces per serving, so 6 pieces for two servings. The lamb skewers come with 10 skewers per serving.

The lamb ribs came out looking so unique, I was genuinely intrigued. Every other table was ordering this dish too, so we gave it a shot :) Ah — it's been a while since I had lamb, so I was full of expectations.

We threw away 30% and kept only the tastiest 70%

They say this about their signature lamb ribs so confidently, it got me even more excited. We put the lamb ribs on the charcoal grill first. You have to grill the lamb ribs yourself, flipping front and back :) My husband did a great job grilling.

As the lamb cooked, a savory lamb smell filled the air and got our appetites going. Wow, I thought, this is a real lamb skewer hotspot in Samsan-dong.

The moment we took a bite with cumin and sauce, my husband and I both gave a thumbs up! There was zero gamey smell that lamb typically has, and the tender texture and savory flavor were really great. We enjoyed it just as much as beef.

My mom usually says she dislikes lamb because of the smell, but with Neukdaewa Yang, I definitely want to bring her here to try it. (Planning to take her soon to demolish some lamb)

We ate the lamb ribs at Neukdaewa Yang so happily that it was almost a shame watching the meat disappear.

Beer and non-alcoholic beer with the lamb

You can't have this delicious lamb without a drink... So we each ordered a cold beer — I got the non-alcoholic beer, and my husband ordered Cass. They even pulled the beer glasses straight from the fridge, so cold! The owner's sense of hospitality was seriously great!!

We tried putting well-grilled lamb ribs on top of sushi rice, and it was absolutely a specialty dish!

As someone who loves wasabi, I piled it on generously, and the moment I took a bite with the sushi rice, my mouth exploded with flavor. Wow, the lamb here is insane. Definitely the lamb spot in Samsan-dong!

Jisamseon, the eggplant and potato stir-fry

Jisamseon (Chinese-style stir-fried eggplant and potato) is a must-order whenever I go to a lamb skewer place!! The moist, tender texture of the eggplant paired with the sweet-and-savory sauce kept me reaching for more. The potato especially was a real standout.

Neukdaewa Yang's lamb skewers cook on an auto-rotating grill, so you don't have to keep flipping them yourself, which was convenient. After finishing the lamb ribs, we got ready for the skewers.

I really hope everyone gets to try this lamb skewer spot near Gulpocheon Station. The golden-brown skewers were so delicious.

Not tough at all — the lamb was tender and melted away quickly in the mouth. Not a hint of dryness. Crispy outside, juicy inside! You have to come to Neukdaewa Yang! We kept popping pieces in one after another and before we knew it, we'd finished the whole thing.

Is Neukdaewa Yang Samsan worth a visit?

Unlike the typical image of a lamb skewer restaurant, Neukdaewa Yang left an impression with its clean yet emotional atmosphere. The dining room is spacious with separate group seating, so it looked great not only for couple dates but also for family meals, company dinners, and group gatherings.

I finally had properly good lamb again at Neukdaewa Yang, the go-to spot in Samsan-dong. Juicy, crispy outside and tender inside — the kind of lamb that keeps you reaching for more with every bite. There was zero trace of that typical gamey lamb smell, and the savory flavor only grew the more we ate. My husband and I left very satisfied :) If you're looking for a great lamb skewer restaurant near Gulpocheon Station in Samsan-dong, I'd definitely recommend giving Neukdaewa Yang a visit!
