Bupyeong pork rib restaurant with yukhoe and naengmyeon: Nocheongol

In short

Nocheongol Bupyeong Main Branch is a charcoal grill restaurant in Bupyeong, Incheon, a three-minute walk from Bupyeong Market Station Exit 4. Over dinner with a friend, the writer made Korean pork yangnyeom galbi (marinated seasoned ribs) the main dish and added yukhoe (raw beef tartare) and naengmyeon (cold noodles). Alternating warm charcoal ribs, cool yukhoe and clean-tasting naengmyeon made for a fuller table than ordering just one dish.

While looking for a good spot to eat in Bupyeong, I went for dinner with a friend at Nocheongol Bupyeong Main Branch.

That day I was craving sweet marinated ribs, so I ordered the pork yangnyeom galbi (seasoned marinated short ribs) without much thought, then added yukhoe and naengmyeon to round out the meal properly.

Inside Nocheongol: seating and atmosphere

Walking in, even though it's a BBQ place, the space felt clean overall and the seats weren't cramped, which made it comfortable to eat with a friend.

There's enough space for a bigger group too, so it would work well as a meetup spot if you're looking for a Bupyeong restaurant to gather at.

How does the pork yangnyeom galbi taste?

The main dish that day was the pork yangnyeom galbi.

Seasoned ribs can get tiresome fast if they're only sweet, but the pork yangnyeom galbi at Nocheongol Bupyeong Main Branch balanced sweetness with a savory, salty depth.

As it cooked over the charcoal, the sauce caramelized slightly at the edges, adding a nutty aroma that got my appetite going even while waiting.

Once the meat browned nicely and I took a bite, the texture was tender, and the seasoning wasn't just sitting on the surface — it had naturally soaked into the meat.

It was tasty on its own, and paired with the side dishes it tasted different again, so piece by piece the plate emptied faster than I expected. The basic side dishes were also well suited to eating alongside the meat, which made mixing and matching fun.

As the yangnyeom galbi kept cooking on the charcoal, the sauce at the edges grilled up beautifully, and cut into bite-sized pieces, it was easy to enjoy while chatting with my friend.

Pairing the marinated ribs with yukhoe

Meat alone felt a little lacking, so I ordered yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) too.

Yukhoe has a completely different appeal from yangnyeom galbi, so I was glad I ordered both.

Served cold, the yukhoe was soft to chew with a nutty flavor coming through, and the sweet pear on the side added a fresh touch. Especially while eating the warm charcoal ribs, switching to the cool yukhoe in between felt like it reset the whole flavor mood — I liked that.

Going back and forth between the pork yangnyeom galbi and the yukhoe, neither dish ever felt repetitive — I got to fully enjoy each flavor. If you're looking for a slightly special side to go with meat at a Bupyeong restaurant, the yukhoe combo was a solid choice.

Finishing the meal with naengmyeon

After the yangnyeom galbi, naengmyeon (cold noodles) was a must to finish things off.

After eating plenty of meat, the cold naengmyeon felt like it cleaned up my palate. I especially saved one last piece of the yangnyeom galbi to eat with the noodles — the sweet ribs and cool noodles went really well together.

Unlike eating just meat the whole time, the chewy texture of the noodles kept things interesting all the way through. My friend said finishing with naengmyeon after meat is really what makes a meal feel complete, and seemed satisfied.

Even though I was pretty full, the naengmyeon somehow kept going in, and I ended up finishing the bowl completely.

Is Nocheongol worth it for a dinner with friends in Bupyeong?

That day we ordered pork yangnyeom galbi as the centerpiece plus yukhoe and naengmyeon, so my friend and I ate quite generously.

Dinner spread with yangnyeom galbi, yukhoe, and naengmyeon together

Rather than sticking to one dish, tasting warm charcoal ribs, cool yukhoe, and crisp naengmyeon in turn made the meal feel much more well-rounded.

Above all, the yangnyeom galbi was tender with well-balanced seasoning, so my chopsticks kept going even without rice.

It was a comfortable atmosphere for chatting and eating meat with a friend, and the menu combination was satisfying — a Bupyeong restaurant I'd recommend, Nocheongol Bupyeong Main Branch.
