Baby back ribs and Tuscan pasta in Bojeong-dong, Yongin: Rustic

In short

Rustic Smokehouse Yongin Bojeong Branch is an American-style restaurant on the Bojeong-dong café street in Yongin, Gyeonggi. The baby back ribs (₩25,000) came off the bone with just a light touch of the fork, and the Tuscan pasta (₩17,000) and zero-sugar cola (₩3,000) rounded out the order. With its woody interior and Christmas decorations, this is a solid, wallet-friendly pick for a date or a meal with friends.

An exterior that already feels like an American restaurant

Today I went to Rustic Smokehouse, an Outback-like restaurant in Bojeong-dong. I found it while looking for somewhere to eat in Bojeong-dong, and the exterior already had that American restaurant vibe that got me curious! From the outside it really felt like a restaurant you'd find in the US, and once I stepped inside, the interior was nicely decorated too.

The overall interior had a woody feel, with lighting fixtures scattered around, giving it a pretty nice atmosphere. There were also a lot of Christmas decorations, so even though it's summer, it felt like winter had arrived haha. There were little props here and there too, so it was fun to look around, and it felt like photos would come out well no matter where you sat 🤭

What we ordered and the prices

  • Baby back ribs ₩25,000
  • Tuscan pasta ₩17,000
  • Zero-sugar cola ₩3,000

The prices... aren't they surprisingly reasonable? Honestly this was my first time visiting, but there was a wide variety of meats and pastas, and overall both the single dishes and set menus felt affordably priced. (Compared to this, Outback...) The All Day BBQ set in particular looked like great value!

Ordered dishes set on the table

Tuscan pasta (₩17,000)

The Tuscan pasta (₩17,000) came out first. The noodles were regular spaghetti on the thinner side, and the sauce was more creamy than heavily thick. Since it wasn't too thick, it was great for dipping the bread that came as a default side!

A plate of creamy-sauced Tuscan pasta

Baby back ribs (₩25,000)

Next came the baby back ribs (₩25,000). Just from the look of them, they gave off exactly the vibe of the ribs you'd get at Outback, so I had high hopes. Sometimes rib meat is tough and doesn't come off the bone easily, but here the meat separated with just a light touch of the fork!! 🤤 Some ribs have big bones with barely any meat, but here the meat was thick, so the portion felt bigger than expected!

Baby back ribs served with fries

The fries that came with it were also thin and long, kind of like McDonald's fries, and they were delicious. Eating the ribs with the fries really felt like an American-style meal (the kind of taste that seems like it'll make you gain weight... but you keep eating it because it's so good).

Overall thoughts

Overall, the portions were good and the prices weren't too high, which I liked. These days, eating ribs or pasta at a restaurant with this kind of atmosphere often comes with a pretty high price tag, but here you can eat relatively without much burden, which was satisfying!

Above all, the store's atmosphere was nicely decorated, so it seemed like a good spot for a date or a meal with friends! If you're looking for a restaurant with a pretty atmosphere in Bojeong-dong, I recommend this place!!
