Yongin restaurant family dinner, tender ribs: Rustic Smokehouse

By Friday, my husband must have been worn out from work, because he said he wanted to get out and get some fresh air that evening. So I looked for somewhere good for eating out with the kids and chose this place—and in the end, we had such a healing Friday night. We had really found a restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere and delicious food! I picked it because I wanted to enjoy that Friday-night freedom over a meal, and taking a walk along Bojeong-dong Café Street afterward made it an even better choice.

The atmosphere at Rustic Smokehouse Yongin Bojeong Branch

Inside, it had the exotic feel of stepping into a Texas smokehouse.

The wood-toned interior was filled with details such as cowboy hats, vintage posters, and leather sofas, along with Mexican-style patterned tiles. It was such an interesting blend of Texas and Mexican vibes.

Rather than just a place to eat, the distinctive interior made it feel a little like we were traveling, so there was plenty to look at too. It was perfect for getting into a Friday-evening mood.

Like us, there were another two or three groups dining out with children until we left. I saw families, couples on dates, and even groups of older men having drinks together.

It seems people often come here for children’s birthday meals too, since they had a birthday-party roulette event.

After the meal, there was a little toy that dispensed chocolate, which the kids absolutely loved.

What comes with the C Set

Let’s look at the menu first! They have set menus too, and the combinations are great!

After sitting down and looking over the menu, we ordered the generously put-together C Set. As each dish arrived, the look and aroma alone made us incredibly hungry.

400 g baby back ribs

They told us to make little sandwiches with the meat, the complimentary coleslaw, and the soft morning rolls!

The meat was so tender that the kids said it was delicious as soon as they put it in their mouths and ate it so well. I was secretly so pleased.

At first, the kids were eating so well that I wondered if there might not be enough, but there was more meat than I expected!! We got full so quickly as we ate the ribs.

The meat was seriously... what surprised me was that it was tender enough to crumble just from touching it with a knife.

I expected to have to pull off the meat clinging to the bones, but the meat came away so easily that the bones were left completely clean. It was so convenient to eat.

Kid-friendly Toowoomba pasta

I was surprised because the kids practically inhaled the Toowoomba spaghetti included in the set. When we ordered, the owner thoughtfully asked first whether the children would be eating too and left out the peperoncino. Thanks to having it made for the kids, they could enjoy it to their hearts’ content.

Quesadillas and portions for a family meal

The quesadillas were thicker than I expected, so sharing one piece each with my husband was just right. The kids finished the pasta, we shared the meat with them, and the adults ate the quesadillas—just the right amount overall.

Definitely visit the side self-bar first!! At first, we only poured barbecue sauce over the meat, and I was disappointed that we noticed the onions and peperoncino late. Eating them together with the onions and peperoncino cut through the richness and tasted so much better!!

Wrapping up our Friday family dinner

It was such a wonderful and delicious meal that it swept away all the fatigue of Friday evening.

• The kids ate well, and the adults were satisfied too, so it was truly an excellent spot for a family meal.
