Gwangjang Market bakery for individually wrapped gift packs: Ssuk's
In short
Ssuk's Choco Pie Seoul is a mugwort choco pie and cookie takeout bakery inside Gwangjang Market in Jongno, Seoul. Wandering through a market packed with foreign tourists, I got recommended the popular menu for gifting, brought it home to share with my parents, and found the individual wrapping — each printed with a product photo and name — ready to gift straight out of the bag with no extra wrapping needed. The choco pie was moist, but personally the sweet-salty mugwort salt cookie impressed me even more.

I went to Gwangjang Market for the first time in a while. But right as I walked in, I was a bit surprised — there seemed to be more foreign tourists than Korean visitors.

I found a snack that I thought, "My foreign friends and my parents would really love this as a gift!" — so I picked some up to enjoy with my parents too!

A trendy dessert spot that stands out inside Gwangjang Market
It's a noticeably more polished, trendy space. Clean and stylish from the outside, and the interior is decorated like the dessert shops you see nowadays — a completely different vibe from the traditional atmosphere of Gwangjang Market.

What I picked — recommended best sellers
I saw everything from mugwort-based choco pies to various cookies. Since it was my first visit, I asked for recommendations and bought the store's most popular items.

True to being a takeout specialty shop, I got my order quickly, which made it easy to grab and go while exploring the rest of Gwangjang Market.

How's the gift packaging and individual wrapping?
It was really perfect for gifting because the packaging was so pretty. Each item is individually wrapped, which makes it easy to store, and each wrapper clearly shows a product photo and name, so it's easy to tell everything apart at a glance. With such pretty packaging plus clean individual wrapping, you really don't need to wrap it again — it's ready to gift as is.

How does the choco pie taste?
The choco pie was moist and sweet, a flavor few people would dislike, and with so many varieties I don't think it would get boring.

My top recommendation: the mugwort salt cookie
Personally, I liked the cookies even more. Crisp on the outside, moist inside, with a satisfyingly dense texture — really delicious. Of everything, the one I want to recommend most is the mugwort salt cookie! The subtle mugwort aroma combined with the salty finish made for a really great sweet-and-salty combination. Personally, I'd recommend the mugwort salt cookie over the choco pie.
