Olibus Eojin-dong is a quiet restaurant with soft lighting, tasteful interior and nicely spaced tables. I really loved the atmosphere. It was comfortable to eat in, and with the roomy table spacing it was easy to chat, too.

Everything felt clean and well kept, and the quiet mood suits dates, family meals or get-togethers with friends. The food is good, but the atmosphere made the whole meal a happy time, and I'd like to come back on a special day. (,,•﹏•,,)

How is the carbonara at Olibus?

Olibus's carbonara is a pasta with a thick cream sauce that isn't heavy or greasy, loaded with plenty of bacon. I ordered carbonara and flatiron steak. The carbonara hit me with a rich, nutty cream aroma the moment it arrived. The sauce was properly thick yet not too heavy or cloying, exactly my style.

The noodles were cooked just right with a nice texture, and the sauce clung to them so well that I enjoyed it down to the last bite. Best of all, there was really generous bacon, and its salty flavor went so well with the cream sauce, with a subtle hint of pepper making it even better. If you like cream pasta, I think you'll be happy with this one. 👍🏻👍🏻

How is the flatiron steak's doneness and portion?

Olibus's flatiron steak (buchaesal, a tender cut from the shoulder) is golden outside and moist inside, with juices visible the moment you cut it, and it comes with grilled vegetables. The flatiron steak was the dish I was most looking forward to, and it was really good. It came cooked just right, and as soon as I cut into it I could see the juices. It was tender but kept that chewy texture flatiron is known for, which I loved.

The outside was golden and savory, the inside moist, and the more I chewed the more juice I tasted. The grilled vegetables on the side went well with it, and eating them together was even better. The portion was more generous than I expected, and together with the pasta, two of us ate our fill.

What's it like to eat the carbonara and flatiron steak together?

At Olibus, the carbonara and flatiron steak were a perfect pair that cut each other's richness. After creamy pasta, a bite of steak cleared the richness, and going back to the pasta brought the nutty flavor back to life, so I never got tired of it.

The plating was neat and pretty too, great for photos. These days taste matters, but so does what's pleasing to the eye, and I felt the care in every dish, which made me even happier.

Is Olibus good for a date or anniversary in Eojin-dong, Sejong?

Olibus Eojin-dong is a comfortable yet slightly upscale restaurant popular with office workers at lunch and with couples on dates. While eating, I noticed lots of office workers there for lunch, and plenty of couples on dates too. The mood is relaxed but a little fancy, so I thought it would be good for a special day.

If you're looking for a restaurant with a nice atmosphere in Sejong, I'd recommend Olibus. Whether you just want good pasta and steak, or you're hunting for a place for a birthday, anniversary or date, I think you'll be satisfied.

I was so happy with this visit that next time I definitely want to try other dishes like the pizza or risotto. Taste, atmosphere and service were all satisfying, so if you're looking for a good Western-style restaurant in Eojin-dong, Sejong, I recommend giving it a visit.
