Dangsan Station late-night bar: Rosé Cheondang Set, Yongyong Seonsaeng
In short
Yongyong Seonsaeng Dangsan Station branch is a red-lit, Hong Kong-style Chinese bar on Yangpyeong-ro near Dangsan Station in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. Its new Rosé Cheondang Set pairs rosé tudoufen (potato starch noodles) with cream shrimp, served here alongside a guava cocktail; even softened by the rosé sauce the mara heat stays strong, so the sweet cream shrimp is essential. With chewy potato starch noodles and plenty of beef tendon, the set at Yongyong Seonsaeng is filling enough to stand in for dinner.

Today's post is about a visit to Yongyong Seonsaeng Dangsan Station branch, a hotspot full of Hong Kong vibes. I love mara dishes and distinctive Chinese bars, so I've been here plenty of times before — but when I heard they'd released a new menu item, 'rosé tudoufen', I couldn't resist and ran straight over.
What is tudoufen (potato starch noodles)?
Tudoufen (土豆粉) is a plump noodle made from potato starch — unlike wheat noodles, the more you chew it the chewier and bouncier it gets, which is unbeatable! It's one of the trendy Chinese dishes right now! I couldn't resist, so off I went. Da-ra-da-ra-dan... da-ra-da-ra-di-ra~~ (Full House BGM, haha)

What the Yongyong Seonsaeng interior feels like
Thanks to the red lighting, Yongyong Seonsaeng Dangsan Station branch feels like mainland China the moment you walk in. The space is spacious and comfortable overall, with generous spacing between tables — never felt cramped, which I loved. It's kind of like that place in Chongqing I always want to go to... lol, not really, but it genuinely feels Chinese.

Best of all, it wasn't loud, so it was great for conversation. Being here made me want to go to Hong Kong,,, honestly.

The basic side dishes are peanuts and pickled radish. Since it's mara-based and looked like it'd be spicy, I diligently munched on peanuts before the food arrived.
With high hopes, I ordered the newly released Rosé Cheondang Set. I was banking on the sweet, savory cream shrimp fully neutralizing the intense, numbing mara flavor — this felt like the winning combo!

Guava cocktail: the drink that cools the mara heat
I ordered the guava cocktail as a palate cleanser for spicy food! The moment you take a sip, that refreshing, sweet guava aroma hits and completely tames the heat. The alcohol scent isn't strong and it's sweet, so even light drinkers can enjoy it without pressure — paired with the numbing, spicy rosé tudoufen, it's not optional, it's essential. Highly recommend.

How spicy is the rosé tudoufen?
Even mixed with rosé cream, the mara flavor in Yongyong Seonsaeng's rosé tudoufen is still extremely~~~ strong. The star dish finally arrived — it passed the visual test right away, with the savory rosé cream and intense mara sauce blending into a rich, delicious-looking, spicy, saucy shanguo-style dish.
The mara flavor is way stronger than expected, but eating it as rosé makes it feel balanced and tasty. It wasn't overly greasy — because it's just that spicy. These Yongyong Seonsaeng folks don't hold back on the mara.
It was a bit too spicy for me, so the cream shrimp was exactly what I needed!!!! Definitely order the cream shrimp,,, or at least get some rice.

Cream shrimp: the sweet-and-salty partner to the spice
The cream shrimp that came with the set is a plump, crispy-fried shrimp — more sweet cream shrimp than creamy-tasting, honestly. The sweet, savory sauce neutralizes the spicy, numbing heat of the rosé tudoufen. Alternating between the crispy batter, the rich cream sauce, and the tingling tudoufen kept me eating nonstop without ever getting tired of it — a perfect sweet-and-salty pairing!

How chewy are the tudoufen noodles?
It's thicker and chewier than corn noodles, so it's fun to chew and tastes great too. If you like potatoes, or that kind of chewy potato texture, you'll 100% love this.

Is the Rosé Cheondang Set enough for dinner?
The rosé tudoufen came packed with plenty of ingredients, so we skipped rice and finished the meal here like a proper, filling dinner. Beyond the sausage and various vegetables inside, the tendon (sgeuji) in particular was really generous — chewy and satisfying to bite into.
If you're looking for a bar near Dangsan Station with a great atmosphere and tasty food to go with drinks, head to Yongyong Seonsaeng. If you love mara or chewy noodles, definitely visit and try this new menu before it disappears. My own money, my own pick, 200% would revisit! Yongyong Seonsaeng Dangsan Station branch's new menu — highly recommended!!!
