Hongdae bridal makeup salon for a dress fitting: Moi Hair Makeup

With my wedding coming up soon, I was looking around for where to get makeup done before my dress fitting, and I ended up at Moi Hair Makeup, a well-known makeup salon in Hongdae! This was my first time getting makeup done in Hongdae since interview makeup, so I was so excited haha

Where is Moi Hair Makeup and what are its hours?

Hours: Daily 05:00-18:00 / Phone reservations only 10:00-18:00 (text only outside those hours)

I don't think it's even 2 minutes from Hongdae Station Exit 3... it's so close you'll find it in no time! It's on the basement level so it was easy to find~ A staff member happened to step out right then and greeted me so brightly, so kind... I was genuinely touched...

Inside Moi Hair Makeup: private one-person styling booths

Once inside, it was so clean and divided into separate sections, I loved it~

They guided me to a private one-person section where I sat right down to wait, and while waiting I took photos of all the makeup tools around me — there were really so many kinds, and I thought, so this is why a popular salon is different... > <

There were so many kinds that I, who knows zero about makeup, found myself thinking, when would anyone even use all of this~ haha and I got even more excited!

I've had makeup done a few times before, but getting pretty makeup always makes me excited, looking forward to seeing my transformed self~~~

There was even a diffuser, so the whole time I sat in the makeup room the scent was so nice, it put me in a great mood haha. And before getting my makeup done, I thought ahead about what style I wanted! Like, since I'm cool-toned, going for a pink tone... or wanting a natural eyeliner instead of something too heavy, etc.

I know zero about makeup so I really just go around with only BB cream on — this is my completely bare face, the before photo haha. Now the transformation story begins! haha

How a dress-fitting hair and makeup session works at Moi Hair Makeup

First, the director roughly curled my hair into waves and then stepped out! Then a staff member did the base makeup very meticulously~~ She was so thorough that all my blemishes were completely covered — seeing that, I really felt the power of makeup > <

Then the director came back and handled the detail work needed for the eyes and the overall look! Both of them were so meticulous with their hands... I was so satisfied

And for the dress fitting, they asked what hairstyle I wanted and did their best to match it~~~~

They very carefully styled the parting, side hair, and fringe exactly how I wanted, and even used hairspray along the way to keep it from falling apart~~~~

After: the finished pink-toned makeup and waves

The difference from the before photo was so dramatic — so pink and pretty, eyes so clear, no blemishes at all... my mood lifted right along with it~~~ They transformed me so beautifully haha

I liked it so much I took tons of photos, and when I went to my dress fitting I even got complimented on how pretty my makeup was haha

They probably all look similar, but I liked it so much I took a bunch, and I'm posting them here just for my own satisfaction haha

Touch-up cotton swabs and a portioned lip color to take home

And at the very end, they gave me cotton swabs and a portioned-out amount of the lip color they'd used, so I could touch up later~~ How thoughtful can you get, ㅠㅠ absolutely loved it. If you're near Hongdae for a dress tour or interview makeup, I recommend Moi Hair Makeup in Hongdae > <
