My hair got even drier after summer — why I booked a hair clinic
I've noticed my hair getting a lot drier than usual lately, so I went and got a hair clinic treatment for the first time in a while.
In summer, strong sunlight and long hours of UV exposure while out and about tend to dry out hair pretty fast. But once summer ended and autumn started approaching, the dryness actually felt even more noticeable, ugh.
Even after washing and drying my hair, instead of that moisturized feeling there was a slightly rough, frizzy texture left behind, so I needed more hair care than usual.
I use treatment at home too, but daily home care alone didn't seem to be enough, so this time I decided to get treated at a salon instead.

Inside the salon: locker room, shampoo rooms, window seating
As soon as I got in, I went to the locker room to change. There were tons of lockers, and the space itself was really huge.

There were a variety of shampoo rooms and spa rooms too.

The view was amazing, honestly — if you come with a friend or family member who's just waiting around while you get your hair done, the window seats would be a really comfortable spot for them.

There were so many different books too. Your phone is fine while you're getting treated, but sometimes reading a book makes the time fly by so much faster, haha.

After getting a good explanation from the director about the treatment I'd be getting, I went into a private treatment room.
They also prepared some cold green tea and snacks for me, haha.

S-course Premium Treatment: 1.5 hours in a massage chair
The treatment I got this time was the S-course Premium Treatment, the Premium Water Care Clinic. The full S-course treatment at Juno Hair Hongdae Entrance Branch took about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

I was treated by Director Sujeong. She was so kind the entire time, honestly.
Usually with a hair clinic you have to sit in the same position for a long time, which can make it feel like it's dragging on, but this time the treatment happened from start to finish in a Verspa massage chair, so it was comfortable the whole way through. Being in the massage chair from the beginning meant my body was relaxed, and I could release tension and fatigue in between steps.
Hair care matters, but I also really care about whether I can stay comfortable while getting treated, and this checked that box too! The Premium Water Care Treatment I got was made up of 5 steps total.
There was even a phone charging spot right by the bed.
Step 1: Shampoo
First up was the shampoo step. Rather than just a simple wash, this step is meant to remove chemical residue, metal particles, and alkaline buildup left on the hair, and to get it clean and ready for the clinic that follows.
Since I regularly use various hair products — not just shampoo and treatment — residue can build up on hair over time, so I figured this step is basically for clearing all of that away before the real clinic begins.
Step 2: Watery
After the shampoo came the watery step. They explained that this supplies liquid protein into the hair to fill it from the inside out and smooth the hair's texture. Since dryness was exactly my hair concern lately, I felt like they were being thorough starting from this very step.
Right after washing, hair can sometimes feel stiff, almost like the moisture's been stripped out. But with this clinic, each step adds in specific ingredients hair needs, which felt pretty different from a regular treatment.
Step 3: Silky
Next was the silky step. This one supplies moisture, protein, and various minerals to the hair to build strength and a soft texture. I usually notice my hair is especially dry at the ends and hard to comb through there, and this step focused on softening it up.
When you think 'hair clinic,' you might picture just applying one product and waiting, but breaking it into these steps made it feel a lot more systematic than I expected. And since I stayed in the massage chair the whole time, my body stayed comfortable throughout, which was great.

Step 4: Smooth
Fourth was the smooth step. This forms a film over the hair's cuticle so that the moisture and nutrients supplied earlier don't escape.
No matter how much treatment you do, dry hair can go frizzy again after a while, so I liked that this clinic went a step further to help lock in the moisture and nutrients it had just supplied. I usually notice my hair getting dry again a day or two after washing rather than right away, but this time it felt noticeably more settled even after the clinic.

Scalp massage, finishing styling, and the before-and-after
At the end came a scalp massage followed by finishing styling. The whole treatment took around 1 hour and 30 minutes, but being comfortable in the Verspa massage chair made the time go by faster than expected. After everything was done, they dried and styled my hair too.
Before the treatment, my hair felt dry and frizzy to the touch, but once everything was finished it felt so much softer and more settled! Combing through it felt smoother than before, and the surface of my hair felt noticeably sleeker.

If your hair needs some autumn care
What I realized after getting this clinic is that hair, just like skin, needs seasonal care too. In summer, strong sunlight, UV rays, and sweat can dry hair out quickly, and once summer ends, the weather itself gets drier, which can make hair feel even more frizzy.
I didn't pay much attention during summer, but as autumn got closer, the dryness became really noticeable, which is why I ended up getting this hair clinic. Keeping up with treatment at home is good too, but if your hair keeps feeling dry or frizzy and hard to manage like mine, getting one intensive treatment at a salon might be worth it.

They also sent me home with shampoo for home care :) Feeling the difference in softness and smoothness before and after with my own hands, this was a treatment worth getting if you're dealing with dry hair like I was lately.
If you're like me and your hair suddenly got frizzy once summer ended, or dryness is starting to bother you as autumn arrives, I'd recommend getting a hair clinic at Juno Hair Hongdae Entrance Branch, this hair salon near Hongdae Station :)
