How do you get to Obeumua Hongdae Branch from Hongik University Station?
Obeumua Hongdae Branch is a 5-minute walk from Exit 1 of Hongik University Station on Line 2. You need to come out through the Line 2 Exit 1, not the Airport Railroad side, to get there quickly! Walk straight past the side with the Samsung Store and it's about a 5-minute walk haha
The weather suddenly turned cold so I dressed warm, but walking made me so hot lol. I really wanted a cold iced americano — and why is Obeumua's coffee so good? They even have latte, so if you love lattes, come here!!!!!

Why a bob perm at Obeumua Hongdae Branch (before)
I went to Obeumua Hongdae Branch because I was tired of my plain, subdued bob. I wanted a naturally curly, lovely perm. Every salon I've been to always says my hair doesn't take perms well, but here the perm came out amazingly well!
Doesn't a flat, droopy bob look kind of plain? T_T Curling it into a C-curl every single day was tiring, so I wanted something lovelier.
Right after washing my hair, they applied the softening solution and started. My hair concern that day was that it looked so flat and lifeless, and it clung to my face making my face look bigger. What I wanted was a CS perm, kind of like Hyejeong's style from The Glory. A bit elegant plus gorgeous, that kind of feel lol. And honestly, they nailed it perfectly. So, transformation, let's go

At Obeumua Hongdae Branch, two designers worked on the softening process together so it went by fast!!! They were very thorough.

Steam treatment care for the bob, included
At Obeumua Hongdae Branch, even a bob perm alone comes with steam treatment care included. I was a bit worried about hair damage anyway, but with this thorough steam treatment care, my hair thankfully didn't seem damaged! Maybe that's why the perm came out so bouncy and well-formed too?!
Trimming the bangs length with a bob cut
At Obeumua Hongdae Branch, the cut was done before the perm, and I loved it even just from the cut alone. My front hair kept growing out like antennae, which I hated, and when I mentioned it, they trimmed it to a perfect length.
Left: before the cut / Right: after the cut. They told me that for a bob perm, the very front hair looks prettier when it's slightly longer, so they trimmed the length nicely. Also my bangs had this stair-step, choppy feel instead of blending naturally, and they smoothed that out! Eek, I loved it even just from the cut!
Rod winding and heat processing: did it feel too hot?
After the cut, the rod-winding was done very thoroughly, good. Sometimes at salons the heat treatment part (not the rods) gets way too hot. But they wound everything without any heat at all, so no worries about burns!
Time flew by while I was on my phone haha. Before I had my baby, time used to crawl during salon treatments, but now a little phone scrolling and the time is gone in a flash

The result of my bob CS perm at Obeumua Hongdae Branch is that the curls look natural even without blow-drying, so my styling time dropped a lot. And I already love it before it's even dry?!?!? Am I the only one getting a lovely vibe from this? The perm isn't overdone and came out so naturally
