A dessert café that's famous around Gongdeok — actually, this is already my nth visit here! One of those places I keep coming back to.. I've also given it as gifts a lot~ It's Fluffy Bake Shop in Gongdeok!
Where is Fluffy Bake Shop, and what are its hours?
Fluffy Bake Shop is at 8 Baekbeom-ro 31-gil, Building 2 Commercial Unit 106, 1st floor, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Hours are Mon–Fri 08:00–18:30, Sat–Sun 11:00–16:30.
It's 148 meters from Gongdeok Station Exit 2~ Come out Exit 2 and keep going straight to the right.
It's a white-toned building with a simple shell-shaped logo attached! Turn into the alley and it comes right into view.
The fluffy logo is set into the wall and there's a standing sign at the entrance too, so it shouldn't be hard to find.
Inside Fluffy Bake Shop: the counter and pastry display
Inside Fluffy Bake Shop, sunlight comes through the windows and it's set up to be cozy and simple to enjoy. I think I've mostly just done takeout, though!
Right next to a cute Shin-chan figure there's a spot set up for putting your desserts.
'Happiness isn't far away, it's right in front of you' says a poster right above the desserts, haha. So true~ On the display case, all kinds of baked goods were lined up neatly by type.
Which madeleines and financiers were in the display case?
Time to admire the desserts~ It said they use Lescure Charentes-Poitou AOP butter.
So many kinds of madeleines! Impossibly-good-looking visuals. Seeing them in photos again like this, next time I should get the hwangchi cheese madeleine and the carrot madeleine too, haha. I think it was the heart-shaped raspberry madeleine that was so good I kept coming back. Sweet, with fruit you could actually bite into — delicious!
They also had canelés, egg tarts, salt bread, and a variety of financiers. I went on an early weekday afternoon and, since this place is popular, a lot of the financiers were already sold out!
Just this much to start~ but since everything looked so pretty, I ended up picking a lot pretty fast, haha.

They can wrap things like this too, so it's great for gifting! This time I just went with regular packaging since I was casually eating with family at home. They wrap everything individually like this.
Enjoyed the desserts together at home, haha. All different colors, and gathered together they looked even prettier.
Chestnut madeleine: mont blanc cream with candied chestnut
The chestnut madeleine (₩3,800) is a madeleine filled with mont blanc cream and topped with sweet marron glacé (candied chestnut). The inside is moist with mont blanc cream, so it's sweet and delicious.. it really felt like fall arrived all of a sudden, haha. Eating this suddenly gave me such an appetite, lol.
Raspberry madeleine: the flavor worth the trip to Gongdeok
It was that raspberry madeleine that made me really fall for Fluffy.. I think I've come often ever since. It's a taste where you bite into tangy-sweet raspberry fruit while getting the sweetness of raspberry chocolate~
Melon financier and gamtae (green laver) financier compared
A cross-section of the financiers looking moist. The melon financier is crisp and sweet on top, totally my type, haha. The gamtae (dried laver) financier is more moist and nutty, with a faint gamtae aroma coming through! Unique, and apparently this is the financier that appeared on Amazing Saturday (놀토).
Why Fluffy Bake Shop is worth a stop near Gongdeok Station
Overall the range is really wide, and each and every baked good has real detail to it, so it was fun to pick and choose! The madeleines and financiers look great too, so they're good for gifting, and everyone around me who's tried this place seems to love it, haha. The owner is kind and the desserts are delicious, so if you're looking for a dessert café near Gongdeok Station, I recommend Fluffy Bake Shop!
