Family Chinese restaurant meal with baby chair in Pyeongtaek: Jangsu
In short
Jangsu Jjambbong Jeonmunjeom is a jjambbong (spicy seafood noodle soup) specialty Chinese restaurant in Godeok-myeon, Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi. Visiting with a baby, the writer ordered jjajangmyeon, gogi jjambbong, and small sweet and sour pork, and found thin noodles, a smoky broth, and generous meat memorable. Wide parking, a baby chair, and an apron made it an easy outing with a child.

My husband and I wanted to eat out on the weekend, and suddenly I was craving Chinese food so badly! Looking for a Chinese restaurant near home, we ended up at Jangsu Jjambbong Jeonmunjeom this time.
We ordered jjajangmyeon, jjambbong, and sweet and sour pork all at once — the classic Chinese restaurant lineup. Let me share what I thought of the taste, the atmosphere, and how convenient the parking was :)

Is parking easy? The mood inside

Jangsu Jjambbong Jeonmunjeom sits on a road in Godeok-myeon, Pyeongtaek. It's right on the street, and the red sign makes it stand out immediately!

You just park in front of the restaurant — and look how wide the lot is! We came by car and parking was so easy, which I really appreciated. Parking is always a quiet worry when visiting a restaurant, and here there's no stress about it at all. Especially with a baby, a car is essential when going out, so we always look for places with easy parking!

The hours and break time are posted right in front of the shop! Check them so you don't make a wasted trip~

Inside, the space was quite spacious. Rather than the chaotic, cluttered feel typical of Chinese restaurants, it was fairly clean and comfortable. When eating out with a child, you need room for a baby chair, so we tend to avoid tight, crowded places! I really liked that about this spot. Even though we arrived past lunchtime, there were still other diners eating!

On the table, chili powder, soy sauce, vinegar, and paper cups were already set out! All the essentials were there, haha.

Self-serve bar with raw onion, danmuji, and rice
The self-serve bar had raw onion and danmuji (pickled radish) ready! My husband and I eat a lot of both and always refill, so having them at a self-serve bar meant we didn't have to ask the owner — so convenient, haha.

Next to the self-serve bar, there's rice!

When you eat Chinese food, jjajangmyeon and jjambbong broth often splash on your clothes — but they had aprons ready! Being the clumsy type, I tied one on right away, hahaha.

They also had a baby chair ready, so we could eat comfortably. Our baby seemed comfortable too, waiting patiently through the whole meal, haha.
What we ordered and the prices
We went all out and picked the dishes you can't skip at a Chinese restaurant. We ordered jjajangmyeon at ₩8,000, gogi jjambbong at ₩12,000, and small sweet and sour pork at ₩15,000.

There were also food photos on the wall, which made it easier to decide!
How were the jjajangmyeon, gogi jjambbong, and sweet and sour pork?

We started with the jjajangmyeon. Compared to other Chinese restaurants I've tried, the noodles felt a bit thinner. If you like thick, chewy noodles you might feel differently, but for me they actually went down even more smoothly!
Once the black bean sauce and noodles were well mixed, I could enjoy that basic savory, slightly sweet jjajangmyeon flavor. Personally, I felt the noodle thickness was one of the defining features of this place's jjajangmyeon.

And the dish that stuck with me most at Jangsu Jjambbong Jeonmunjeom was, of course, the jjambbong. The broth had a subtle smoky char that really stood out. Plus, since it's gogi jjambbong (meat jjambbong), it was loaded with meat, giving the broth a savory, rich depth that was delicious! There were plenty of toppings too, so eating them along with the broth was also great!

Finally, the sweet and sour pork! Even if the portions are already large, you can't skip sweet and sour pork at a Chinese restaurant! What stood out here was how generous the meat was. Sometimes the meat feels too thin compared to the batter, but here the meat portion was quite substantial. Biting in, I actually got to taste the meat instead of just crunching through batter, which I loved. My husband tried it too and said it was way better than the Chinese food he'd had recently! I'd definitely recommend ordering it to share.

Final thoughts
These days a lot of Chinese restaurants lean on flashy MSG-heavy flavors, but Jangsu Jjambbong Jeonmunjeom stuck to a clean, no-frills taste! I could see why it's a spot people keep coming back to! If you're looking for a solid, straightforward Chinese restaurant in Godeok, Pyeongtaek, give Jangsu Jjambbong Jeonmunjeom a try!
