Late-night karaoke bar in Pyeongtaek: Dongking Norae Town

A late-night karaoke bar we found for a second stop in Songtan

I don't know if it's just Hooni and me, but since we're both working people, we're very much the “let's properly have fun on our day off‼️” type. We went to Juggeopjip, a great Korean barbecue spot in Songtan, not long ago, and it felt too early to go home—so we came here for a second stop.

Let’s begin my visit to Dongking Norae Town Songtan Branch (동킹노래타운 송탄점), a karaoke bar in Songtan, Pyeongtaek ❤️

Dongking Norae Town Songtan Branch: location and hours

It is on basement level 1 at 23 Gwangwangteukgu-ro in Pyeongtaek, and it is open every day from 6 p.m. until 8 a.m. the next day.

Since most places around Songtan Branch Office close early unless they are 24-hour restaurants, this is the perfect Songtan karaoke bar and drinking spot in Pyeongtaek for a second stop without worrying about the time. Hooni and I visit it often as our second stop, too.

It has become such a familiar place that whenever we go out for drinks, the routine is naturally, “Karaoke for the second stop?” and then straight to Dongking Norae Town Songtan Branch 🤣

Weekday room fees before 8 p.m. and generous included snacks

One especially nice thing is that the room fee is ₩10,000 if you visit before 8 p.m. on weekdays. They also bring snacks, the nostalgic junk food we ate a lot as kids, and old-style red-bean shaved ice as standard.

When you consider that hot popcorn, iced Americanos, and ramen in a pot also come out, the included snacks are so generous that even after 8 p.m., the room fee doesn’t feel expensive ❤️

But, but‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ There are sooooo many main-menu snacks that look just as mouthwatering as the included ones. We always try to order something we have not had before, so for indecisive people like us, this is the moment when we waste the most time 😭😭

Signatures and requests from inside the room

• Dongking seasonal fruit ₩32,000 / Fruit punch time ₩29,000
• Shy Boy, Chiki Chiki Choco, Yellow Yellow Mango snowflake shaved ice, and watermelon & melon shaved ice: ₩29,000 each
• Iced Americano, iced tea, and misutgaru (mixed grain powder drink), 1 liter each: ₩5,000; snack-basket refill ₩5,000
• Instant rice, udon noodles, and thin wheat noodles: ₩2,000 each; red-bean shaved ice and ramen free
• Soju glasses, beer glasses, gas-cylinder changes, water, extra place settings, water cups, and tableware can be requested by calling staff

Aside from ordering the main menu, you can request anything you need from inside the room, which is great because it does not interrupt the flow 👍

A snack menu with many ₩29,000 options

• Dishes: Dongking assorted sausages, spicy rice cakes, rice-cake cutlets, spicy beef brisket soup tteokbokki, spicy rosé tteokbokki, and whelks over shaved ice: ₩29,000 each
• Whelks with thin noodles, grilled dried fish, dried pollack, and Dongking fruit ice cream: ₩29,000 each
• Pizza: pepperoni pizza and cheese pizza, ₩29,000 each
• Fried dishes: crispy fried shrimp, Dongking juicy sweet-and-sour pork, and Dongking kimchi-cheese sweet-and-sour pork, ₩29,000 each

• Half plain fried and half seasoned boneless chicken, boneless fried chicken, Oegatjip Supreme Chicken, Dongking pork cutlet & fries, assorted potato fries, and stretchy cheese sticks: ₩29,000 each
• Soups and stews: spicy seafood jjamppong soup, seafood scorched-rice soup, pork cutlet kimchi-cheese hot pot, spicy fish-cake hot pot, Dongking hangover soup, Dongking kimchi fish-cake udon, and seafood Nagasaki soup: ₩29,000 each

Alcohol and drink prices

Jinro Is Back, Chamisul, Saero, Cheoeumcheoreom, Cheongha, and Saero Darae are ₩6,000 each; Byeolbit Cheongha is ₩7,000, and Ilpum Jinro is ₩35,000. Terra bottled beer, Light, Light Zero 0, and 500 cc draft beer are ₩6,000 each; 1,700 cc draft beer is ₩18,000; and the three highballs are ₩8,500 each. Cola drinks, crushed pear drink, Ceylon tea, hovenia tea, Jetty chocolate drink, ginger ale tonic, and soda drinks are ₩2,000; Hot6 and tonic water are ₩3,000; grape juice is ₩4,000.

Other than one item, most snack prices were ₩29,000, and there were so many choices that we both kept wondering, “What should we get⁉️” We could not even think about singing while choosing from the menu. We finally ordered Dongking assorted sausages for ₩29,000, two bottles of Chamisul at ₩6,000 each, and a bottle of Terra for ₩6,000.

Hooni and I started singing while having the included snacks with the drinks that arrived first.

I feel this every time we come, but the sound system at Dongking Norae Town Songtan Branch is seriously so good. It makes you want to sing 🎶❤️

After singing our hearts out, the day’s main snack finally arrived: Dongking assorted sausages‼️

We order a different snack every time we visit, and honestly, this one was the most disappointing in terms of portion size—but it tasted good, so I’ll let it pass 🤣

Weekday service time and our second-stop night

Some of you may think that the room fee plus one main snack plus drinks sounds expensive⁉️ But on weekdays, unless there is a wait, they generously add unlimited service time, so it actually felt like a better deal haha.

When you sing away the stress and exhaustion from work, you do not actually eat or drink that much,

and you end up singing nonstop. We got less service time than when I visited with my mom last time, but we still had a great time enjoying the unlimited 20-minute extensions that just kept coming ❤️

Just as nowhere can be perfect in every way, there are downsides too, but this late-night Songtan karaoke bar and Pyeongtaek drinking spot has more advantages than drawbacks. When you are wondering, “Where should we go for a second stop⁉️ I want a light drink and to sing too 🤔,” I recommend it ❤️ If you are as indecisive as Hooni and me, choose your main snack before you go and you will get to sing even more 🤗
