Sous vide steak lunch with a friend in Jeonpo, Busan: Brassway
In short
Brassway (브라스웨이) is an Italian home-style restaurant tucked in an alley near Jeonpo Station, Busan. Over lunch with a friend, sous vide beef flap steak (34,000 won), triple cheese arugula pizza (19,000 won), and peach ade all impressed with their plating, taste, and the chef's warmth. The space is small but photogenic, making it a solid pick for a date or anniversary meal.

Today I'm sharing a review of a delicious lunch I had at a place where the chef was so kind and the atmosphere was just as great — I was so, so satisfied.

Before visiting I looked up reviews again and found out it's a steak spot. Well, then I just had to try it. Thinking about the steak and the arugula-piled pizza, I was practically skipping there~

A small but photogenic Western restaurant in the Jeonpo alleys
This Jeonpo Western restaurant, tucked in a backstreet of Jeonpo-dong, was even smaller than I expected — but it was such a pretty place it made me want to take photos.

A place this pretty is too good to keep to myself, so take a look at the whole vibe. Every table, every light fixture, even the kitchen has that sense of stylish interior design. It matters that a restaurant tastes good, but when the atmosphere is nice too, it just makes everything more exciting.

The history of Brassway, printed right on the menu
You can order via the QR code on the table, but there was also a paper menu made with real care. And it had Brassway's history printed on it too (I love this kind of thing 😗)
The "yangeun냄비" (brass pot), in which my father-in-law simmered galbijjim (braised short ribs) every day for 20 years, is not just a cooking tool. It's the beginning and symbol of Brassway, carrying the family's time, tradition, and memories. Not wanting his devoted hand's-taste to remain only a nostalgic recipe, his son-in-law — trained at Le Cordon Bleu, one of the world's three great culinary schools — took it over, turning galbijjim into a new dish that fits today's table.
So that's probably why the signature dish is galbi pasta. So romantic. I'll definitely come back to try the galbi pasta next time.

Mushrooms, carrots, beautifully sliced steak, and the yellow pumpkin purée on top — just look at the plating. Now I understand why the reviews raved about the steak. My friend and I took one bite and just started laughing.

Even the pickle plate was lovable here. Being able to make people happy through food really is an incredible skill. And on top of that, the staff were so kind — you all should come back and eat here again and again. I want to make this my go-to spot. Next time I'll try the pasta, the risotto, the other menu items too ❤️

Peach ade and the kindness that lasted until the end
Right down to the lovely-tasting peach ade — it was a delicious meal with a dear friend I hadn't seen in a while, and I savored every bit of it. I wanted to stay longer, but since there were people waiting, we decided to give up our spot quickly so they could enjoy their time too, and got up to leave. Right until the end, the staff smiled brightly and asked if the food was good, treating us so kindly that I really think I'll be back again. Thankful today for getting to know such a great place.

Brassway focuses on naturally weaving Korean ingredients and sensibilities into the warm atmosphere of Italian home cooking. Starting from familiar flavors, we aim to create meals that stay in memory in a way that's uniquely Brassway. A casual Western meal for brunch, a more leisurely time with wine in the evening — we want to be a space that fits naturally whenever you visit.
The sincerity with which the father-in-law approached food has carried on through his son-in-law, and it's moving so many people again through food in this Jeonpo alley. I hope that on dates, anniversaries, family gatherings, and other special days, you'll feel the same happiness I did over an even more special meal.
