Gyeongbokgung Western restaurant: fresh linguine at Teen Seoul

I was looking for a nice-atmosphere Western restaurant in Seochon and ended up at Teen Seoul. Short version: the food was great, but honestly the space itself is what won me over. It's the perfect vibe for pasta and steak with a glass of wine 🥂 They even have terrace seating, so on a nice day it feels genuinely romantic. If you're hunting for a Seochon restaurant or a good date spot in the neighborhood, this is one I'd recommend!

Where Teen Seoul is and what it feels like: a walk from Gyeongbokgung Station, two floors and a terrace

Teen Seoul is an easy walk from Gyeongbokgung Station. The space is split across the 1st and 2nd floors, with indoor tables plus terrace seating. It's tucked along a Seochon alley, so even the walk there feels like part of the date :)

Overall it has a relaxed but polished bistro atmosphere, so you can enjoy good food and wine without things feeling too formal. Add in that distinct Seochon neighborhood feel and it's a perfect match for a Seochon date.

Steak Frites: black Angus chuck flap with fries

The first dish I ordered was Steak Frites: a black Angus chuck flap steak served with fries.

The steak was beautifully seared outside and juicy inside — proper tender texture. On top of that, melted butter added a rich, nutty depth that made it taste completely different from a plain steak.

And then there was the huge pile of fries next to it....🍟 Crispy outside, fluffy inside — one bite of steak, one bite of fries, and they disappeared in no time... paired with wine, it was an even better combo.

Grilled Prawns Linguine: fresh pasta in shrimp bisque sauce

Grilled Prawns Linguine — this was the one I personally enjoyed the most. Fresh linguine tossed in rich shrimp bisque sauce, with arugula and grilled herb-marinated prawns on top.

Being fresh pasta, the texture was different from the start — chewy and bouncy, with the bisque sauce soaked deep between the strands, so the shrimp umami hit right from the first bite 🦐 The grilled prawns were plump and firm too, great to bite into! The arugula cut through the richness just enough that the heavy sauce never felt greasy. The combo of fresh pasta and shrimp bisque was so good — if you love pasta, I'd recommend this one.

Is Teen Seoul a good place for a glass of wine?

Personally, Teen Seoul felt less like a place you eat and rush out of, and more like somewhere to linger over a glass of wine. Both the steak and the pasta pair really well with wine, so it's perfect if you're looking for a Seochon restaurant with good wine. The terrace especially comes alive with a glass in hand. During the day it has that relaxed Seochon feel, and in the evening it turns a bit more romantic.

There's terrace seating right from the entrance, and now that the weather's nice, sitting out there with a glass of wine was so lovely.

The space itself is so well designed that overall I left completely satisfied with Teen Seoul! If you're after a Seochon restaurant that nails the atmosphere too, I'd recommend it. Especially if you're craving pasta, steak and a glass of wine, and looking for a Seochon restaurant with good wine — save this one 🥂

Indoor tables and the second-floor terrace

The indoor tables are also simple and stylish, which made the atmosphere feel great, and the big windows connecting to the terrace let in wonderful natural light.

My favorite spot is the 2nd floor terrace — it has this gorgeous hanok (traditional Korean house) vibe reminiscent of Bukchon, and being able to sip wine and relax up there was so satisfying.

It's also a great spot to visit as part of a Seochon date — wander the alleys, then finish with a meal here. 🤍
