Why the consultation at Yeum Hair led to a CS curl

First, before the service, I had a quick hair consultation with designer Sarang. My hair at the time only had a layered cut done. Through the consultation, we decided to do an overall magic setting perm CS curl combined with a root perm.

I wanted a medium-length C curl, but since perms fade fast after even one cut, we went with a CS curl perm instead. I appreciated how carefully she listened to what direction I wanted and how well she designed it.

At Yeum Hair they started by shaping the root volume with a flat iron. I'd assumed they'd use rollers, but they used an iron to build the root volume instead. She explained that shaping volume with the iron gives a more natural lift than winding it with rollers :)

The setting perm is underway. She checked the curl test carefully at each stage to see exactly how it was coming out.

One thing that really stuck with me personally! I was almost finished with the water I was drinking, and even though I hadn't said anything, while I was away for the shampoo they refilled it for me. The staff at Yeum Hair near Nowon Station were all really kind, and even through a long 4-hour service, I could feel how attentively they took care of things.

Ta-da! The feminine, natural CS curl I wanted turned out really pretty. Can you see how the volume at the roots keeps the whole thing from falling flat, so it looks full?

With the natural curl added to the light feel of the layered cut, it looks pretty even worn down without tying it up, and the silhouette from the side and back looks much prettier too.

Most of all, I loved that the curl wasn't too tightly frizzy but had that naturally flowing feel.
