Lash salon in Mapo, Seoul: a lash lift instead of extensions, Iyo Shop
In short
Iyo Shop is a one-person lash salon in Mapo, Seoul, a 3–5 minute walk from Exit 3 of Gongdeok Station on the 2nd floor of Mapo Gongdeok Park Palace 2. Because the writer rubs their eyes often, they chose a nutrition + black tinting lash lift instead of extensions, and lashes that used to droop over the eyes were lifted from the root in about 50 minutes. A week later the curl at Iyo Shop still holds, so no eyelash curler and no mascara are needed.

I got a lash lift near Gongdeok Station. I took the subway there and finding the place was easy, and the treatment itself was quick and comfortable, so I left really satisfied. Today I'm sharing my review of Iyo Shop, a lash specialist salon, from the day of the treatment to how it looked a week later.
Where is Iyo Shop near Gongdeok Station, and how do you book?

I booked through Naver Reservations.

As of today, when I'm writing this, the booking slots are all full 😮 Make sure to book ahead! Since treatments run from 8am to 9pm, it also seems convenient for people with office jobs.

I took the subway there, and since you just walk straight the whole way, it was easy to find. Take the elevator dedicated to the Park Palace shopping complex up to the 2nd floor, then follow the directory to Unit 211.

You can see the clean exterior of the shop with white curtains.
What a one-person lash salon feels like: the owner does booking and treatment
Iyo Shop is a specialist one-person salon where the owner personally handles everything from booking to the treatment itself.

It had been a while since I'd been to a one-person salon like this, so I hesitated a bit outside the door before going in haha. The space wasn't cramped at all, and the clean white interior gave a great first impression. Soft music was playing, so I relaxed quickly, and I could get the treatment comfortably in a private atmosphere.

There was a coffee machine, plus a sink for washing hands and a hanger for hanging up coats — all neatly arranged. The amenities needed before and after the treatment were well set up, which made things easy.
Why a lash lift instead of extensions if you rub your eyes
At Iyo Shop, we first had a consultation about what style I wanted before the treatment. It had been a while since my last lash lift, so I wasn't exactly sure what curl would suit me, but I said I wanted a natural lift that would make my eyes look more defined. My lashes had been drooping downward, so even with mascara they'd fall flat quickly, and the feeling of my lashes covering my eyes often felt stuffy.

I went with the nutrition + black tinting lash lift. I did consider extensions too, but since I rub my eyes often, I went with just the lift — and I was still really satisfied. I was told the treatment would take about an hour, but it actually took about 50 minutes, and the owner worked quickly yet carefully.
What is a Korean lash lift like, step by step?
My eyes kept trembling during the treatment and I was worried, but she stayed calm and handled it well, which I really appreciated. There was no pain, stinging, or irritation. Lying on the warm bed listening to soft music, I actually started getting sleepy. I nearly fell asleep, haha.

The bed was just too comfortable 🙄 I almost dozed off, but since the treatment finished quickly within 50 minutes, I snapped back awake in time haha. The owner's hands were so quiet and quick that I barely noticed what she was doing during the treatment. It felt like she was working busily, but lying there, I hardly felt a thing. No stinging, itching, or discomfort at all during the process.
When the treatment was done and I looked in the mirror, my drooping lashes had lifted from the root and my eyes looked much more defined. Thanks to the black tinting, my expression looked more vivid even without much eye makeup. I was told to avoid washing my face and getting the area wet for about 5 hours after the treatment.

The lash curl looked natural yet nicely lifted, and I was really satisfied. I wanted a natural look, but it still had to actually look lifted, right?
How well does the lash lift hold after one week?
A week after the nutrition + black tinting lash lift at Iyo Shop, the curl hasn't dropped much and is still holding up well. The before-and-after of the lash lift is unmistakable.

Not needing an eyelash curler or mascara every morning has been genuinely convenient. If you want a natural curl with more defined eyes, I'd recommend Iyo Shop, the lash specialist near Gongdeok Station. The treatment was fast and precise, and I was especially satisfied with how clean the shop was.
