Meeting a friend after work in Yeongdeungpo
Today I want to tell you about a trip to Yeongdeungpo to meet up with a friend I hadn't seen in a while. She happens to work near Yeongdeungpo, so I looked for a place where we could grab good snacks and catch up right after she clocked out.
When you're trying to recharge after a full day of work, atmosphere matters more than anything, right? Walk into a loud, packed bar and you end up raising your voice and losing energy fast. This time I discovered 'Nani Byeolgwan' and the moment I stepped in, it was pure coziness — I left completely satisfied!

What's the vibe like early in the evening?
Because we came a bit early, we got to fully enjoy the space's charm. Calm, quiet music played softly throughout, and the lighting and overall mood put me right at ease.

The private seating in back
What I liked most was the seating layout. There was plenty of seating up front, but heading further inside, there were separate spaces divided for privacy. Thanks to that, we didn't have to worry about other people's eyes or noise, and could comfortably catch up on everything we'd missed.

The little stones on the napkins
There was one detail that got me the moment I sat down at the table! Small, differently shaped stones placed carefully on top of the napkins. Looks like they're there so the napkins don't blow away, but putting that kind of charming little touch into such a small prop felt so cute and thoughtful. Also perfect for an Instagram-worthy photo!

Upstairs: room-style seating and group tables
And climbing the stairs inside the store reveals another kind of charm. There are private seats neatly divided by walls, like a room-style bar, and spacious group seating too. With so many offices near Yeongdeungpo, this really seemed like the perfect spot for a team dinner or gathering after work.

What we ordered: clam soup and seasoned cucumbers
Once we sat down, the default side dish arrived first — a crisp, refreshing cabbage salad. We nibbled on that while deciding on the menu, and ended up ordering clam soup and seasoned cucumbers!
Honestly, once the dishes came out, the portions were so generous that either one alone would've been plenty for two people. But since it had been a while since we'd seen each other, and I wanted a proper 'drinking snapshot' for Instagram stories, I got greedy and ordered both!
- Clam soup: the broth was refreshing and spicy, perfect for drinking, and packed with clams — every spoonful felt like it cleared out my insides.
- Seasoned cucumbers: crisp and tangy-sweet, cutting through any heaviness in the mood and pairing perfectly with the clam soup.

Who should visit
If you're looking for a private bar near Yeongdeungpo Time Square where you can actually talk, I'd recommend 'Nani Byeolgwan' without hesitation. Office workers tired of loud, crowded bars, people who want a cozy drink with a friend, or anyone looking for a clean spot for a team dinner will all be happy here. If you're ever near Time Square, definitely stop by!
