If you're driving, head about 30 meters down from Geumchon-dong Rotary toward Ilsan, Goyang, and you'll see a large parking lot on the left. Inside the lot there are three shops — look for the one on the right with the black-and-yellow sign! The parking lot is huge, so there's zero worry about finding a spot.

Inside the restaurant and the beef aging fridge

From the outside, the sleek yellow-and-black sign immediately caught my eye 👀👀 and stepping inside, the clean, stylish interior didn't feel like a 10-year-old restaurant at all!

The space is spacious and open, making it perfect for family gatherings, work dinners, or dates. The soft lighting and spotlessly clean tables put me in a great mood from the first impression (˶ㅇᗜㅇ˶) ⑉♥

What really caught my attention was the beef aging fridge on display in the restaurant! Seeing the owner regularly tending to it, I could feel the genuine care put into the meat, which built a lot of trust.

What's in each fridge, and why the No. 3 set means 21 cuts

Minine Gogi Nakwon's charm is its top-grade wet-aged meat paired with an all-you-can-eat system. You can pick a menu by fridge depending on your taste!

  • Fridge No. 1 (12 types — pork and chicken)
  • Fridge No. 2 (17 types total — beef makchang, beef, pork, chicken)
  • Fridge No. 3

But this time we boldly went for the amazing new menu — the No. 3 set with a total of 21 cuts, all-you-can-eat, including beef, prime rib, beef intestines, and scallops! Choosing set No. 3 gives you unlimited access to the dedicated No. 3 fridge stocked with scallop skewers, prime rib, seasoned prime rib, and beef intestines 🤤👅

Self-serve sauces and round one: scallop patties, udaegalbi, brisket and top blade

Bowls of onion sauce, makchang sauce, and all-purpose seasoning sauce

Right after ordering, I ran to the self-serve bar to grab the side dishes to go with the meat. Onion & scallion sauce, makchang sauce, and the secret weapon — the all-purpose seasoning sauce — all set! Laying out my beloved onions, pickled radish, and the sauces, my mouth was already watering ( Ĭ ^ Ĭ )

Our first pick was scallop skewers, prime rib, chadolbaegi (thinly sliced beef brisket), and bucheotsal (beef flap meat)! Since I was starving that day, I went straight for the quick-cooking ones first 👊

Maybe because I hadn't eaten, or maybe because of the wet-aging, but it was so tender and soft it drove me crazy...🥹

Wrapping a big scoop of onion sauce and folding it into crunchy pickled radish — genuinely so good! It's the kind of taste that makes your eyes fly open and you go 'are you insane?' out loud.

As someone who loves the pure savory flavor of beef, I just kept grabbing piece after piece... and wow, the juices burst in my mouth!

Grilling udaegalbi rare to medium, the way the owner recommends

Next up — today's true star, prime rib, finally makes its entrance!

Bone-in prime rib on the grill
Prime rib grilled rare to medium

The owner shared a tip that prime rib should be grilled rare to medium, like a steak, to truly enjoy its real flavor. So of course, that's exactly how we ate it.

My boyfriend cut it into easy-to-eat pieces and grilled it, sometimes removing the bone and sometimes grilling it golden brown still on the bone. Following the owner's tip, cooking it just a little and taking that first bite... I can't remember the last time I enjoyed prime rib this much — it put plenty of famous prime rib restaurants to shame, honestly heavenly 😭

The meat was unbelievably tender and soft, with zero gamey smell, just melting away in your mouth. Is this ice cream?? My mom even started an incredible bone-picking show beside us — this one cut had our whole family going absolutely wild 🤭

The seasoned prime rib was also the definition of sweet-and-savory perfection.

Next up was the scallop skewers! No exaggeration, I had to hold myself back from wanting a whole truckload...🔥 Grilled golden brown on the pan, they came out salty and tender, drawing gasps of admiration.

After finishing them, of course we went for round 2, 3, and 4! Grabbing four at a time every round and grilling them with the meat, somehow scallop skewers never missed a single round haha.

Meanwhile we started grilling the beef intestines too. Packed full of fat, with zero gamey smell — pure tender chewiness!

Here's the crazy pro tip: the default makchang sauce is delicious with beef makchang or intestines, but dipping it in the all-purpose seasoning sauce from the self-bar instead is truly next level...

The beef makchang was pure chewy bliss. Definitely try dipping it in the all-purpose seasoning sauce!

Doenjang jjigae, rice and a last round of scallops

After all that meat, I started craving a spicy, savory broth, so we ordered doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) as an add-on. Wow, this place is legit great at doenjang jjigae too 👍 The stew was packed with tofu and vegetables, so we immediately ordered rice and mixed it into the broth — the perfect doenjang rice-drinking-soup combo!

With the savory broth soaking into every grain of rice, one big spoonful completely cut through the richness. At this point I was refreshed enough to keep eating, haha, can I go again?

Ok, I can. We finished the epic meal by filling our mouths with the savory taste of golden-grilled scallop skewers. Being able to freely pick from a combo of 21 kinds of meat and seafood without holding back left me completely satisfied 🥹

Who should eat at Minine Gogi Nakwon?

You could really feel the 10 years of experience behind Minine Gogi Nakwon! The tenderness of the wet-aged meat, the friendly service, and the pleasant interior — nothing was missing.
