As a self-confessed bread lover, hunting down delicious bread has basically become a daily routine for me. I can never pass up chewy bagels slathered thick with cream cheese.

I found a spot in Suwon that really knows its bagels — Orange Bagel. This is already my second visit, that's how much I genuinely love this place, so let me walk you through it in detail today.

I tried everything from Laugen to deep choco, bacon scallion, and crab shrimp, and each one had its own charm. Chewy yet springy on the outside, plain and mellow inside, and generously loaded with ingredients — it made every bite even better.

Parking at Orange Bagel: how busy is it at 2pm on a weekday?

As befits a large Suwon café, Orange Bagel has really spacious parking. Parking is always the thing I worry about when driving to a café, but here the lot is generous enough that I could visit without any stress.

I went around 2pm on a quiet weekday, so seats were plentiful too, which made it even better.

Orange Bagel is located at 129 Omokcheon-ro, Gwonseon-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, 979m from Exit 2 of Gosaek Station. It's open Monday through Sunday from 7:30 to 21:00, last order at 20:30, and never closes.

They run from 7:30am to 8pm. Since they open early in the morning, it's a great spot to drop by for a bagel-and-coffee brunch on your way to work or school.

Inside Orange Bagel: interior and atmosphere

True to its name, cheerful orange color pops up as an accent everywhere. Since it's Halloween season right now, cute little Halloween props are scattered around, giving the whole place a hip, lively vibe.

Each floor has its own fun to discover, and it's great for photos too. I honestly felt like I'd stepped into one of those cafés famous purely for its interior.

What makes Orange Bagel's bagels different

There's a reason these bagels taste so good. Apparently they mix Canadian and French flour in a special ratio for the dough. That would explain the noticeably chewy, springy texture. The bagels themselves are dense and satisfying to chew, hearty enough to be a full meal on their own.

Orange Bagel has a wide variety of bagels on offer. From plain bagels to loaded ones like chocolate, bacon scallion, and crab shrimp, there's plenty of choice, and it was fun picking based on my mood.

The 1st floor is the bagel showcase and order area. You put your chosen bagels on a tray, pay along with your drink, and the showcase also has a whole lineup of different flavored cream cheeses.

Bagels that need to stay fresh, like the salmon bagel or jambon beurre (ham and butter baguette), are also kept here. Just a heads up — the salmon bagel is so popular that it was already sold out by the time I got there.

The second floor and third-floor rooftop

True to its scale as a large café, Orange Bagel never feels cramped. The 2nd floor has generously spaced tables, great for chatting with friends.

There's a separate bar table too, ideal if you want to enjoy some alone time, plus large tables suited for group gatherings or get-togethers with family and friends.

Water and napkins are set up separately on one side, so you can help yourself as needed.

The 3rd floor has a rooftop space too. On a nice day, it would be lovely to relax outdoors with a bagel and coffee in the open air. I imagine visiting on a cool day would really let you soak in the rooftop atmosphere.

Tasting each Orange Bagel bagel at home

Back home, I opened up the boxed bagels one by one. They stayed neatly in place inside the box without getting jostled, so they were easy to take out.

Deep choco bagel, 6,900 won

I picked this for my chocolate-loving daughter, and slicing it in half revealed a generous amount of chocolate packed inside. The sweetness spread through my whole mouth — perfect for a sugar boost.

Bacon scallion bagel, 8,500 won

The scallion cream cheese isn't greasy at all — it's actually fragrant and mellow. Combined with the salty bacon, the pairing with the bread was fantastic.

Laugen butter bagel, 6,900 won

Laugen bagels are briefly dipped in an alkaline solution before baking, which gives them that signature savory, chewy exterior.

The savory saltiness of the Laugen combined with sweet butter makes for a sweet-and-salty combo that keeps drawing you back in. The bagel is chewy yet dense, gets more savory the more you chew, and the smooth butter flavor makes it all the better.

Crab shrimp bagel, 8,500 won

It's loaded with seafood topping, so every bite carries a taste of the sea. It was genuinely surprising how distinctive a flavor a bagel can pull off.

With such a wide variety of bagel flavors, it's fun trying something different every time. If you love that chewy bagel texture, or if you're looking for a café worth visiting in Suwon, I'd say give Orange Bagel a try. Next time, I'll definitely come earlier so I can finally taste that sold-out salmon bagel.
