For my birthday, my husband and I wanted a proper date together, so I went looking for a restaurant with good atmosphere. I didn't want anywhere too formal, but somewhere near Anguk where I could enjoy both the vibe and the food properly — that's how I found Le Cochon. It suited the distinctive feel of Anguk really well and was a great spot to take our time over a birthday meal, so let me introduce it :)
How to find Le Cochon: look for the Arario Museum sign
Le Cochon

When looking for Le Cochon, don't search for a typical restaurant sign — instead look for the sign that says 'Arario Museum in Space' and go in through there. At first we wondered if we had the right place, but if you follow the entrance shown in the photo and head inside, you'll find it. There are lots of trees around and the entrance has such an atmosphere that even on the way to eat, it felt like walking into an exhibition space. If it's your first visit, just remember: look for the Arario Museum sign!

Once you're through the entrance, a café and an elevator are right in front of you. Take the elevator up to the 3rd floor and you'll arrive at Le Cochon.
Window seats with a green view for a birthday date
Right as we stepped off the elevator, we were connected straight into the Le Cochon restaurant. When we arrived, a staff member immediately helped seat us.
The seat they showed us to was an open window seat, and beyond the floor-to-ceiling glass was a lush green view — the moment we sat down, the view was just gorgeous! I felt like I'd picked the perfect birthday date spot :)

When we got to our seats, the menu and table setting were already neatly prepared.

What the Parisian Dejeuner course includes and what it costs
We ordered the Parisian Dejeuner for two, which is only available for weekday lunch.
- Weekday lunch only / ₩59,000 per person
- Three bite-sized starters
- Lyonnaise salad – egg cream, jambon ham, olives, croutons, mixed leaves
- Choice of main 1 – grilled French lamb rack / creamed spinach / cassis sauce
- Choice of main 1 – Korean pork collar steak / minari-apple salsa / fermented shrimp dauphinoise / apple soy sauce
- Choice of main 1 – 1+ grade Hanwoo tenderloin steak / endive / mushroom pie (+₩20,000)
- Choice of main 1 – Beef Wellington (advance reservation required, 2 people +₩60,000)
- Seasonal main dessert
- Coffee or tea
- Optional add-ons – French onion soup (+₩18,000), beef bourguignon (+₩15,000)

Besides the main course, there was also a wine and drinks menu — worth checking if you'd like something to pair with your meal.

After ordering, my husband and I took our time enjoying the view outside the window while waiting for the food. Watching the greenery, even the waiting felt healing :)
Three bites, bread and the Lyonnaise salad
After a bit of a wait, the first thing to arrive was the three bite-sized amuse-bouches.
Sweet corn panna cotta topped with caviar and olive oil. The saltiness of the caviar combined with the sweetness of the corn made for a soft, enjoyable bite.

Shrimp tart with melon filling and a hint of lime. The plump shrimp paired with the fresh sweetness of the melon filling and the lime aroma made for a refreshing bite that whetted the appetite.

Butter toast topped with tomato and jambon beurre. The savory brioche combined with the salty ham and pickles for great umami flavor.

We also ordered a glass of wine each to go with the meal.

I went for a non-alcoholic white wine, while my husband chose a red — we clinked glasses happily and started the meal.

Next, bread and butter arrived. The bread was crisp on the outside while staying moist and chewy inside — delicious with the butter!

The Lyonnaise salad followed right after, packed with egg cream, jambon ham, olives, croutons, and mixed leaves — quite a varied mix of ingredients.

The soft, savory egg cream combined with the salty jambon ham and olives, plus the crunchy croutons, made for great texture and a nice appetite booster.

Before the main dish arrived, the staff neatly reset our cutlery. Looking under the table, I also noticed a separate storage box for bags and belongings. Little touches like that made the meal even more comfortable :)

The main course: grilled French lamb rack
At last, the main dish — the grilled French lamb rack — arrived.
The tender, well-grilled lamb rack came with creamed spinach and cassis sauce.
The rich flavor of the lamb, combined with the soft, savory creamed spinach and the sweet-tart cassis sauce, came together harmoniously without any heaviness.

Dessert at Le Cochon: brownie and iced coffee
Once the meal was finished, the main dessert arrived along with a drink. Both my husband and I chose iced coffee, which was a clean, refreshing way to finish the meal — and it was delicious too.

Right after came the brownie topped with crepe chips and ice cream.

The rich chocolate brownie, combined with the soft ice cream and crunchy crepe chips, gave a great range of textures!

Pairing the sweet, rich brownie with the cool iced coffee made for a lovely sweet-and-bitter combination.

Do you need a reservation? Even weekday lunch sells out
After finishing our meal, I took some photos of the restaurant's interior, which had grown a bit quieter. Seats are arranged along the floor-to-ceiling windows, so every table gets that green view, and the overall atmosphere was calm and relaxed. Notably, even for weekday lunch, every reservation slot was full — there were barely any open seats during our meal. Le Cochon runs on a reservation-only basis, so booking ahead is essential :)
I also spotted a Blue Ribbon Survey sticker. The Blue Ribbon Survey is one of Korea's leading restaurant guides that reviews and recommends good places to eat. Le Cochon has been listed in the Blue Ribbon Survey in 2022, 2025, and 2026. Having eaten there myself, the food, atmosphere, and service were all satisfying, so that sticker caught my eye even more!
Le Cochon, where my husband and I went for my birthday, was a place I was happy with — not just for the food, but for the view beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows and the calm atmosphere. Since you can enjoy a relaxed meal with the weekday lunch course, I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a nice restaurant in Anguk for a special day like an anniversary or birthday. If you're looking for a good-atmosphere date restaurant in Anguk, it's worth booking a reservation and paying a visit.💙
