Gangnam dakgalbi restaurant for 7 with cheese rice cake topping
In short
Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch is a dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken) restaurant on the 2nd floor of Gangnam Diobil in Seocho, Seoul, closer to Sinnonhyeon Station than Gangnam Station. A group of seven ordered one 3-person set and one 4-person set and added sweet potato and cheese rice cake toppings in advance, then wrapped the chicken in savory pancakes, which kept it from getting boring to the last bite. Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch is worth remembering as a lively group dinner spot in Gangnam.

Whenever I'm making plans in Gangnam, the menu is always the hardest part to decide. When you're meeting a bunch of people, you want somewhere everyone can enjoy, with generous portions and a relaxed vibe — this time we went to Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch. It's fairly close to Sinnonhyeon Station too, so it's easy to get to, and it turned out to be a good pick when you're looking for a spot for a friend gathering or work dinner in Gangnam :)

Where is Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch and how do you get there?
The place I visited this time was Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch! It's right in the middle of Gangnam, so it was easy to get to before and after other plans. Especially on days when a big group is meeting, it's always a bit stressful if even one person has trouble finding the place — but this spot is easy to reach by public transit, so it should work well for anyone looking for a Gangnam Station restaurant for group meetups.
Dakgalbijeon is located on the 2nd floor of the building, haha. It's actually closer to Sinnonhyeon Station than Gangnam Station~

Is the Dakgalbijeon dining room suited to a group of seven?
Once we got inside, the restaurant was bigger than I expected, with tables spaced out comfortably. Dakgalbi is a dish that works well for two people, but also great for a crowd, so there were tables of friends alongside tables that looked like work dinners or family gatherings. The atmosphere isn't too formal, so it's easy to chat comfortably while eating — a good fit for friend hangouts, family meals, or a work dinner!

What a group of 7 ordered: 3-person set, 4-person set and toppings
We looked over the menu and got down to ordering. Personally, I think dakgalbi is more fun the more people you have, since there's so much you can add on. There were 7 of us in total, so we ordered one 3-person set and one 4-person set, haha. I heard the toppings need to be ordered ahead of time, so we got things like sweet potato and cheese rice cake toppings!

Since we'd booked ahead, they even had the table already set up for us, haha.

Since it's a group gathering, soju is a must...!

Dakgalbi wrapped in savory pancake: why the name Dakgalbijeon?
It came out ready to wrap in savory pancake (jeon), and that's when I realized why the name is 'Dakgalbijeon.' Wrapping it in the pancake changes the flavor each time, so we never got tired of it till the end. If you're stuck on where to go with a group of people who all have different tastes, dakgalbi is actually a pretty solid choice. In fact, this place won the vote for our gathering spot, haha. That's why I'd also recommend it to anyone looking for a Sinnonhyeon restaurant for group meals.

The dakgalbi we'd been waiting for finally arrived! Watching it sizzle right in front of you is honestly the best part of dakgalbi, haha. The chicken and various ingredients were all coated in this appetizing sauce, and just looking at it, the spicy aroma hit right away. The sauce wasn't just intensely spicy for the sake of it — it was the kind of flavor that kept me reaching for more, and the chicken had really soaked up the seasoning nicely.

The bathroom key was attached to a rice paddle, which cracked me up so I took a photo, lol.

Portions, value for money and the cheese fried rice finish
Since there was a big group of us, the portions were generous enough for everyone, so it's worth considering if you're looking for a good value restaurant near Gangnam Station. Eating out in Gangnam these days can get pretty pricey, so it was nice to be able to load up one table and share. Another plus of dakgalbi is that it's not just one dish — you can keep adding toppings and side dishes depending on your taste!
The photo came out blurry, but the fried rice was really delicious too... Definitely go with the cheese fried rice...

What I noticed while eating is that this place really shines when you come with a big, lively group rather than a quiet meal for two. It'd be great for catching up with friends after a while, or for a relaxed work dinner with a few drinks. And given the Gangnam location, the accessibility is a huge plus when deciding on a meeting spot!

Who Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch is best for
If you're looking for a group meetup restaurant near Gangnam Station, this should suit anyone who cares about the following:
- A dish that's great for eating with a big group
- A relaxed atmosphere where you can chat easily
- A hearty, filling meal
- A location that's easy to reach from Sinnonhyeon or Gangnam
If you're like me and care about taste but also portion size and price, this place should satisfy you as a good-value option near Gangnam Station. Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch is worth remembering whenever you're craving dakgalbi in Gangnam, or need a relaxed spot to gather with a group. Personally, I think it works for everything from a small meal to friend gatherings, family meals, and work dinners, so I'll definitely think of it again next time I'm meeting a group in Gangnam :)
