Songjeong café with a baby high chair and no elevator: Suwolgyeonghwa

After a trip to Songjeong Beach, my wife, our baby and I went looking for a nice-vibe café and ended up at Suwolgyeonghwa~!

It's known among Songjeong cafés in Busan for its ocean view and Korean-style atmosphere, so I was curious to check it out.

There's parking on the 1st floor of the building, and the building itself is really pretty haha.

The vibe was clearly different from a typical ocean-view café haha. With hanok-style interior and a full glass wall looking out over the Songjeong sea, it was such a good place to relax over a cup of tea~!

Can you bring a baby to Suwolgyeonghwa? High chairs in Songjeong

Suwolgyeonghwa had a high chair, so we could sit down even with the baby. A café with a baby chair, haha — that's pretty rare.

The window seats are always full haha. We got lucky.

It's located on the 4th floor of the building, but keep in mind there's no elevator — you'll need to take the stairs~!

What the 4th floor of Suwolgyeonghwa feels like

Once you step inside, the calm, quintessentially Korean atmosphere is the first thing that catches your eye.

The Songjeong sea sits right in front of you, and if you're lucky you might even catch the beach train passing by — I could see why the window seats are so popular haha. Even though it's right by the water, it doesn't feel like a resort exactly; the calm mood particular to a tea house is layered on top~!

The Dalbodeurae dessert box, ₩13,000

We ordered Suwolgyeonghwa's signature Dalbodeurae box (달보드레 상자). It's ₩13,000 and lets you sample several kinds of Korean-style desserts at once~! From black rice sulbbang (rice cake) to injeolmi (rice cake coated in bean flour) skewers, monaka (wafer sweets), and gamtae myeongnan financiers, there's fun in picking one piece at a time.

It was nicer having a little of many things rather than a lot of one, and it paired well with tea haha. Especially since it comes in a box, it looked really pretty set against the Songjeong sea backdrop~!

Bamsikhye and Lemon Sunset tea at Suwolgyeonghwa

For drinks, we ordered chestnut sikhye (밤식혜) at ₩8,000 and Lemon Sunset (레몬석양) at ₩8,500.

Chestnut sikhye is a homemade sikhye (sweet rice punch) with a nutty chestnut aroma added. It has that sweet, familiar sikhye taste, so it went well with the Korean-style desserts~!

And the one that really stuck with me was the Lemon Sunset haha.

It's a tea with hibiscus's red color plus a lemony tartness and sweetness — completely different from the chestnut sikhye, so it was nice to alternate between the two~!

Is Suwolgyeonghwa worth it for an ocean-view café in Songjeong?

There are plenty of cafés in Songjeong, Busan, but what stuck with me most about Suwolgyeonghwa was that it's not just about the ocean view — you also get to enjoy Korean-style tea and dessert together. There's a separate space on the 2nd floor too, I noticed.

Ordering one Dalbodeurae box and pairing it with a Suwolgyeonghwa-only drink like the chestnut sikhye or Lemon Sunset makes for a pretty good combo~!
