I went looking for a big café between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station and ended up at Something About Coffee ☕️ This place is packed with delicious cakes, financiers, scones, macarons and all kinds of baked dessert treats. 🍰🍫🍩 I also loved that there's such a large 3-floor café right in the middle of Gangnam.

It's a handmade dessert specialty shop that uses premium ingredients like French gourmet butter, French chocolate, Guérande salt, 100% Finnish cream cheese and dairy fresh cream, which made me even more excited. ✨ This is a good place to introduce for a café meetup with friends or on a day when you're craving something sweet. 🤎
It's easy to get to from either Gangnam Station or Sinnonhyeon Station, so it would also work well as a meeting spot with friends. The building itself is big and stands out, so it wasn't hard to find even on my first visit. 👀 Just a heads-up — you order on the 2nd floor!
What baked goods and cakes fill the showcase?
The variety of desserts at Something About Coffee was genuinely huge. 👍🏻🫢 There were financiers, scones, egg tarts, cookies and a wide range of macarons too. It was fun just browsing the displayed desserts, and so many looked delicious that it was hard to pick just one. haha
The cake selection was also really abundant. 🍰 Pistachio cheesecake, fig black sesame cream cheese cake, fresh blueberry cheesecake — there were so many distinctive cakes to choose from depending on your taste. If you love desserts, this is a place where the display case alone will catch your eye. 🤎
What are Something About Coffee's signature drinks?
Beyond desserts, the drink menu was also varied. Something About Coffee's signature drinks included the following:

The hojicha choux milk tea is said to let you enjoy the deep flavor of hojicha tea combined with smooth milk tea. ✨

Seating across three floors and the terraces
When I'm looking for a café near Gangnam Station, seating and space quietly matter a lot to me. Something About Coffee is a large 3-floor café, so the space felt spacious and comfortable. 👍🏻 There's seating on every floor, so it would be nice whether you're visiting alone or coming to chat with friends.
You could pick a seat depending on the mood you wanted, and there was also terrace seating on the 2nd and 3rd floors. On a nice day, it would be great to relax on the terrace with coffee and dessert. 💛☕️
How did the four desserts and drinks taste?
That day I ordered a matcha cream choco latte, iced Americano, black sesame fig cream cheese cake and choco financier. Looks delicious just from the visuals 🥹💓
I also ordered an iced Americano to go with the sweet desserts. Great for tasting rich coffee flavor!
Matcha cream choco latte
This drink combined the bitter, rich flavor of matcha with the sweetness of chocolate. 💚🍫 The distinctive bitterness of matcha blended nicely with the soft, sweet feel of chocolate, so it was easy to enjoy it almost like a dessert.
Choco financier
I also ordered the choco financier. It was a dessert where you could enjoy the rich sweetness of chocolate along with the nutty flavor typical of baked pastries. The outside had that classic baked-goods texture while the inside was moist and soft, making it great to eat with coffee. 💛
Black sesame fig cream cheese cake
It's fig season right now, isn't it..?! And I'm a total fig lover. 💓 So I ordered the black sesame fig cream cheese cake. It was a cream cheese cake where the nutty, rich flavor of black sesame was layered with the subtle sweetness of fig. The soft, dense texture of the cream cheese was appealing, and biting into the fig brought natural sweetness and a chewy texture — it was really delicious. 🫢👍🏻
