Haeundae restaurant shrimp anchovy oil pasta couple's dish: Bueokgan

Today I visited a Western restaurant on Dalmaji-gil. If you're looking for good Western food in Haeundae, definitely check out today's review! Bueokgan is a complex space with a bakery, a restaurant, and a Chinese restaurant all together, and the place we visited was the European restaurant among them. We had a hearty meal with the couple's dish set :)

How to get to Bueokgan Haeundae Branch, and where to park

Bueokgan Haeundae Branch is located on the 2nd floor of 200 Dalmaji-gil117beon-gil, Haeundae-gu. Follow the uphill road along Dongbaek Elementary School, and you'll find it on the 2nd floor of the building in front of Hillstate Weave, on the site of the old Sansu Tang bathhouse. Go up the stairs on the right side of the building to reach the entrance.

By public transit, it's about 982m from Exit 9 of Jangsan Station. The Haeundae-gu2 bus stops right in front of the restaurant, with a 20–25 minute interval. It's about 1.3km, or a 5-minute drive, from LCT Haeundae. From Haeundae Beach it's about 2.9km, an 8-minute drive. For parking, you can use the underground lot behind the building or the lot next to Bueokgan Bakery.

What the 100-pyeong dining hall feels like

The space is a spacious 100 pyeong, so it never felt cramped — just comfortable and relaxed.

There's a vestibule at the entrance, so the moment you step in you feel the classic atmosphere.

At the signature semicircular tables, the view outside the window opens right up.

They said the furniture and decor were directly imported from the UK, France and Italy.

Maybe that's why every corner of the space felt so luxurious.

Vintage furniture mixed with soft lighting also made it a great spot for photos.

I could see exactly why it's such a popular spot for good Western food in Haeundae.

Kids' and group amenities at Bueokgan, plus free corkage

It's a kids-welcome zone, fully equipped with baby chairs and baby tableware.

There were plenty of families, and group seating is available too, so it also works well as a gathering spot.

Reservations are possible, so booking ahead makes for an easier visit.

The restrooms are gender-separated and Wi-Fi is available too. Corkage is free if you bring your own wine — up to 3 bottles free of charge.

Bueokgan's menu and what comes in the couple's dish set

Bueokgan's menu ranges from soups and salads to pasta, risotto, pizza and steak, so there's plenty of fun in choosing among the good Western food options in Haeundae.

Apparently the steady sellers are the napa cabbage Caesar salad, truffle gnocchi, kungpao pilaf, jambon pizza and tenderloin steak.

We ordered the couple's dish set! Here's what it included :)

For drinks, we chose single grapefruit juice and single orange juice.

Since the drinks were included in the set, it felt even more worthwhile. Sipping the refreshing juice between bites of pasta and pizza cleansed our palates nicely.

Sweet pumpkin soup

Next up was the pumpkin soup.

They said it's made in-house from fresh pumpkin.

The golden color looked delicious, and the moment I took a spoonful, the warm sweetness spreading through put me in a good mood.

It was smooth and sweet, a nice way to wake up the appetite before the meal.

There's also a signature soup topped with pastry, so I'm planning to try that next time.

Garden salad

The garden salad included in the set felt like a light way to wake up the palate with fresh vegetables.

The ingredients were fresh, and I loved the crunchy texture.

It was a refreshing way to prepare for the pasta and pizza to come.

Shrimp anchovy oil pasta

The shrimp anchovy oil pasta is Bueokgan's signature dish.

It's an oil pasta where fresh shrimp and anchovy come together in harmony, with a quietly savory depth of flavor rising up.

The noodles were cooked just right and well coated in the oil sauce, and the savory flavor carried through to the very last bite.

It wasn't greasy at all — light and clean, so I enjoyed it all the way through.

The shrimp were also plump and springy, making every bite fun to chew.

Basil margherita pizza

The basil margherita pizza has a basil pesto base topped with roasted tomatoes.

The crust was clean and simple, and the cheese paired so well with the basil aroma that I kept reaching for slice after slice.

The basil scent spread gently, making it light to eat without any greasiness.

The tomatoes gave it a fresh, bright finish.

Is the couple's dish set at Bueokgan worth it?

This was a place that satisfied on all fronts — atmosphere, taste and amenities.

You could feel the care put into every dish, and the spacious layout made for a relaxed meal.

It seems like it would suit dates, of course, but also family meals out and group gatherings.
