For the weekend, I visited Gwihan Jokbal Yeongdeungpo, a Yeongdeungpo restaurant known for both great taste and great service. I went on a Sunday at lunchtime, so I could eat without any crowding, nice and relaxed.

How far is Gwihan Jokbal from Yeongdeungpo Station?
Gwihan Jokbal Yeongdeungpo is extremely close to Yeongdeungpo Station, so it's very easy to reach by public transit. While I was eating, delivery app notifications kept going off nonstop at the counter — proof this is a genuine local favorite that neighborhood residents order from constantly.
It's also right next to Yeongdeungpo Station Times Square, the Yeongdeungpo Lotte Department Store, and the Yeongdeungpo Shinsegae Department Store, making it a perfect stop to fill up after a day of shopping.
Inside the restaurant: seating and atmosphere

Unlike a typical meat restaurant near Yeongdeungpo Station, the interior here is impressively clean and comfortable. The space is stylish and well-organized enough to work as a date spot or a meeting place in Yeongdeungpo.
It's a relaxed place for chatting over a drink or two, which makes it a natural pick for group dinners, office get-togethers, and all sorts of gatherings in Yeongdeungpo. The quality is high enough that it would even hold up for a wedding-invitation meetup or another important occasion near Yeongdeungpo Station.

Hair ties, digestive medicine and knee blankets on request
Another impressive thing about Gwihan Jokbal Yeongdeungpo is how many thoughtful services it offers guests. There are hair ties for anyone whose long hair gets in the way while eating, digestive medicine in case you overeat, and even knee blankets — all prepared with real care, so I felt genuinely well taken care of on the service side too. In the end, the food, the atmosphere, and the service were all completely satisfying at this Yeongdeungpo Station favorite.

What we ordered: the bojok set for two

That day we ordered the bojok set for two, a satisfying combo that lets you taste both jokbal (braised pig's trotters) and bossam (boiled pork) at once. Once the order went in, fresh, neatly arranged side dishes that pair perfectly with the meat arrived first. Cool bean sprout soup and crisp lettuce wraps — sides that bring out the flavor of the meat — were plenty to get our appetites going.

Finally, the main event, the bojok set, arrived. The sight of generous, fresh meat piled on a large plate was overwhelming. One bite in, and the tender texture and full-bodied juiciness suited our taste perfectly.

How did the jokbal and bossam taste?
The jokbal's skin was chewy and springy, while the meat itself was so tender it practically melted in the mouth. There was a subtle savory depth to it, with no gamey smell at all.
The bossam, on the other hand, was clean-tasting and moist — a real standout. The balance between lean meat and fat was perfect, and the more you chewed, the more savory juice filled your mouth.

Eaten together with bossam kimchi, it made a fantastic drinking snack too, doubling as both a solid meal spot and a proper bar near Yeongdeungpo Station. It's a standout even among Yeongdeungpo's jokbal restaurants and the jokbal specialists near Yeongdeungpo Station.

Oh, and the water served is warm, nutty barley tea — I loved that touch, haha.
Is Gwihan Jokbal Yeongdeungpo worth a visit?
Gwihan Jokbal Yeongdeungpo works great as a solid meal spot, and I'd also strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a bar near Yeongdeungpo Station or Times Square to enjoy tasty drinking snacks.
If you're looking for a good restaurant or meat place around Yeongdeungpo Times Square, there's no need to look any further. Since it stays open late as a night-friendly spot near Yeongdeungpo Station, it also works fine as a second or third stop for a night out around Times Square.
Next time I'm craving jokbal in Yeongdeungpo or looking for a meat restaurant near Yeongdeungpo Station, I'll come straight back to Gwihan Jokbal Yeongdeungpo without a second thought.
