Gijang restaurant with kids' seating for family dinner: Riverside
In short
Riverside is a Western-style restaurant in Ilgwang, Gijang, Busan, with a garden and sea view. The writer ordered carbonara and a whole bacon steak with iced americano and cola, starting with pre-meal bread, and found the baby chair and room-style seating made it easy for a family outing with kids. A place with antique wood-tone interiors and a floor-to-ceiling window view worth lingering over.

I was looking for a Western restaurant in Gijang, Busan with good vibes and ended up at Riverside in Ilgwang 😊 These days delicious food matters, but so does the atmosphere of the place.
Riverside, which I visited this time, is a spot where you can enjoy Ilgwang's relaxed atmosphere along with a variety of Western dishes like pasta and steak, so I had high expectations.
I found this place while searching for pasta restaurants in Gijang, and while I was deciding what to order, I noticed the interior was clean and comfortable too, so it was a nice, relaxed way to spend meal time.
It didn't feel like a stretch to bring kids along, so it seemed fine for a family meal, and if you're visiting as a couple, it also seemed like it'd work well as a Gijang date spot.
Today I'll honestly go through the dishes I tried in person and the atmosphere of the place 🍝🥩

The outside view, with a grass garden and the sea

The vibe was great from the exterior alone 🌿 There's lush green grass and outdoor tables in front of the restaurant, and you can catch a glimpse of the sea just beyond, so my mood lifted even before we ate.
Especially on a nice day, it seemed like the kind of place where you could sit at an outdoor table, look out at the sea, and enjoy a relaxed meal or a cup of coffee.
It's a space that matches Ilgwang's quiet, unhurried feel, so it's likely to catch the eye of anyone looking for a good Western restaurant in Gijang 😊 There was a Blue Ribbon Survey 2025·2026 sticker at the entrance too, which built up my expectations before going in ✨
Antique wood-tone interior, room seating, and baby chairs

Walking into Riverside, I felt a completely different, antique and classic atmosphere from the outside 🕯️ The wood-tone interior stood out overall, giving it a warm yet upscale feel, and I loved that the big floor-to-ceiling windows by the tables let you look out at the green garden and sea while eating.
The tables were spaced generously too, so it never felt cramped, and there were various room-style spaces inside that seemed good for family gatherings or a special meal.
Most of all, as someone visiting with kids, I was glad to see baby chairs were available 😊
The atmosphere was antique but comfortable, so it seemed to work well both for a family meal with kids and as a relaxed Gijang date restaurant for couples.
What we ordered — carbonara and whole bacon steak

That day we ordered carbonara, whole bacon steak, and for drinks, iced americano and cola!
Ordering pasta and steak together made for a hearty meal 😋 I waited eagerly to see what would come out.
With the neatly set table and the food added on top, it was finally time to properly taste the pasta at this Gijang restaurant.
Pre-meal bread and balsamic sauce

While waiting for the meal, pre-meal bread and balsamic sauce came out first 🥖 The bread arrived warm, and dipping it in the balsamic sauce was a nice way to whet our appetites before the main dishes. It was nice to be able to share pieces of bread and wait for the meal at a relaxed pace 😊
The moment the table filled up

Finally the dishes we'd been waiting for started arriving one by one! 🍝🥩 Once the food was laid out on the table, it looked so appetizing I wanted to dig in right away.
From the nutty-smelling carbonara to the generous-looking whole bacon steak, the table quickly filled up.
Add the cool iced americano and cola, and a proper meal was complete 😋 The food looked even more appetizing in person than in photos, so I started eating with high expectations!
How did it taste?

Finally, time to taste! 😋 I twirled up the carbonara first — the smooth, nutty cream sauce blended well with the noodles, so it was easy to enjoy without feeling heavy.
I also cut the whole bacon steak into bite-size pieces and tried it — with the thickly sliced meat alongside, it had a different, more filling flavor from the pasta.
Alternating between pasta and steak, with cool drinks in between, made for a relaxed meal with family. Eating in a place with good atmosphere really does make the meal itself feel more enjoyable 😘
