Gijang Italian restaurant for family dining: Riverside’s mild pasta
In short
Riverside is an ocean-view Italian restaurant in Gijang, Busan, across from Sinpyeong Small Park. We shared non-spicy Gorgonzola pizza, tomato chuck-flap risotto, and shrimp carbonara with our child, then packed up the leftover pizza. Verdict: Riverside is a lovely pick for a family meal with a sea view.

Today, I’m going to introduce a great pasta spot in Gijang. It is right in front of Sinpyeong Small Park, so it is nice for a walk after your meal, and the ocean view makes it a lovely date spot, too. I’ll share my review of Riverside, a popular pasta restaurant in Gijang.
Is parking at Riverside convenient?

One thing I liked about Riverside, a popular Gijang restaurant, was its large parking lot, so it was easy to visit by car. We went on a weekday, but it seems there are plenty of spaces even on weekends, so I do not think you need to worry about parking.

Inside Riverside, seated with a view of the sea

The sea is right in front, which made the view even prettier. I think it would be wonderful to eat outside on a sunny autumn day with a cool breeze. With an ocean view like this, you simply cannot resist taking photos, haha. The blue sea is always so beautiful and healing, no matter how often I see it.

Riverside has a warm, atmospheric wood-toned interior, which made for lovely photos.

The ocean view outside the window and the green lawn together looked even more beautiful. Riverside can get busy on weekends, so there might not be any window seats available; I recommend reserving ahead! We reserved, too, and were shown to a window seat, haha.

There is a separate private room as well. I think it would be great for a group gathering, too.

Non-spicy Italian dishes we ordered with our child

The bread and drinks arrived first. The bread was warm, so it tasted even better. It was so delicious that we kept eating it before the meal even came out, haha. The grapefruit ade was refreshing and went well with the Italian food.

Gorgonzola pizza, tomato chuck-flap risotto, and carbonara pasta.

Since we were eating with our child, we ordered non-spicy dishes, haha.

Gorgonzola pizza and takeaway
The Gorgonzola pizza was my pick, and it was an excellent choice~ You know that distinctive aroma and flavor of Gorgonzola. These days, I find it even tastier than tomato-sauce pizza.
Gorgonzola pizza is best dipped in honey, isn’t it? The honey’s sweetness is the kick that makes the Gorgonzola so good, and I think I kept eating because the flavor never became tiresome. Our oldest was at school, so the three of us went with our younger child; one pizza was quite large, so we had some left and took it home. You can pack up leftover pizza, so ordering generously rather than too little is a good idea, haha.

Tomato chuck-flap risotto
The chuck flap on top of the risotto was really tender. I wondered whether there would only be a little meat, but there were plenty of thick pieces of chuck flap, so I was satisfied. It paired well with the tomato sauce, too.

Carbonara with shrimp
For the carbonara, you could choose bacon or shrimp, and we chose shrimp. Carbonara scooped up with plump shrimp and a rich cream sauce—this really showed why Riverside is known for pasta.

The kids like carbonara, so when we go to an Italian restaurant, we usually order carbonara pasta. I think carbonara is one of those dishes that seems simple but is actually quite hard to make delicious. Too much sauce can make it greasy, but Riverside’s pasta was not greasy; I loved its clean, nutty flavor. If you are visiting with a child, I recommend this carbonara pasta! If you are looking for a date spot or somewhere to dine out, visit Riverside in Ilgwang, Gijang, where you can enjoy a beautiful view and delicious food.
