Outdoor terrace BBQ 2-person set with 5 skewers in Gijang, Busan
In short
The Barbecue 051 is a pre-grilled meat and skewer restaurant near Gongsu Port in Gijang, Busan. The 2-person set (440g pre-grilled meat plus 5 skewers) came with brisket doenjang jjigae and perilla oil buckwheat noodles, eaten on the outdoor terrace, and because the meat arrives pre-grilled the grilling time is short enough to chat comfortably while eating. A good pick for anyone who wants meat, skewers, and doenjang jjigae all in one sitting.

I live in Busan, so I'll probably be posting a lot of Busan and nearby restaurants from now on. Today, as a certified meat lover, I went hunting for a good barbecue spot and ended up at The Barbecue 051 in Songjeong, Busan!

Where to park? A lot right out front, plus Gongsu Port street parking
There's a dedicated Barbecue 051 lot right in front of the store, and if it's full, the Gongsu Port lot is just a minute's walk away. It's street parking, so it's easy to use — no need to stress about parking at all!

A resort-like exterior and outdoor terrace
The first thing that caught my eye when I arrived was the storefront — it had a real resort-vacation vibe. There's even an outdoor terrace, perfect for soaking up the atmosphere on a nice day!

Check out this cute signpost out front~ It points to Songjeong Beach and Haedong Yonggungsa Temple nearby, but also Lotte World Busan, Lotte Premium Outlets, and even IKEA — so it's a great spot to stop for a meal after playing around the area. Inside, the place is clean and the seats are spacious, so it'd work well for families or groups too.

What we ordered: the 2-person set (440g pre-grilled meat + 5 skewers)
Here's the menu! I ordered the 2-person set (440g pre-grilled meat + 5 skewers). Waiting for the meat was the most exciting part. So much anticipation!

It arrives pre-grilled, so the grilling time is short
The weather's been so nice lately that sitting on the outdoor terrace really felt like actual camping. Grilling meat in a cool breeze — that whole vibe!! I loved it~!
The meat comes pre-grilled, so you just finish it off on the grill a bit more. Since it's already cooked to some degree, the grilling time wasn't long, which I really liked. You just cook it a little more until it's ready to eat, so you don't have to hover over the grill the whole time — you can relax and chat while eating. Alright~~ let's grill it a bit more on the pan. Sizzle sizzle.

Vegetables from the self bar
Grilling up nicely...🤤 Oh right! Vegetables are kept fresh separately at the self bar, so just grab as much as you need.

Alright, let's dig in~~ Can you see how fresh the vegetables are? I always wrap my meat in ssam greens when I eat barbecue, so I pay close attention to the vegetables, and these were genuinely fresh — super green and crisp! I put a piece of meat on a fresh leaf, added a bit of wasabi, and wrapped it up neatly 😝

Skewers dipped in sauce and breadcrumbs
According to the friendly staff, this is how you're supposed to eat the skewers — dip them in the sauce and breadcrumbs that come alongside for extra flavor, so I tried it exactly that way.

Eating just meat can get repetitive, but the skewers offered a completely different experience. The crunchy texture of the breadcrumbs paired with the sauce worked really well, and before I knew it, I'd polished off one after another. The shrimp skewer in particular was genuinely delicious (just my personal taste).

Finishing the meal: brisket doenjang jjigae and perilla oil buckwheat noodles
My partner was busy putting something together so I took a photo, hahaha. We didn't stop there and ordered rice dishes too — I got the brisket doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and the perilla oil buckwheat noodles!

The perilla oil buckwheat noodles were so nutty and delicious!! And you know a real good restaurant when the doenjang jjigae is good — this place truly is one. The jjigae isn't optional, it's mandatory!!! We ate meat and rice to our heart's content and walked out completely full.
Terrace lights that turn on at night
Just as we were finishing up the meat, the terrace lights turned on..! I bet it's even better in the evening!! I'm a meat lover who enjoys hunting down good barbecue restaurants, and I feel like I really found a great one this time! Next time I'd love to try the other menu items I didn't get to this visit. If you're looking for a good barbecue restaurant in Gijang, Busan, give The Barbecue 051 a try!! It was a happy evening — good meat and a great atmosphere after a while!
Nice and full, so we took a walk around Gongsu Port to wrap up today's restaurant record >_<
