Sindang Station bar with shamanic decor and ohbang skewers: Ju Sindang

I was looking for somewhere a little more special than an ordinary bar in Sindang, and that's how I ended up at Ju Sindang! The atmosphere here was unique from the very start.

What are the entrance and interior of Ju Sindang like?

Right from the entrance, Ju Sindang doesn't look like a typical bar — it's the kind of place where you think 'wait, is this really the entrance?' — so you might get a little lost at first!

We actually couldn't find the entrance either and ended up going up to the second floor, only to find out later that the entrance is on the first floor haha. Just push that door open and you're in!

Once you step inside, dim lighting, mother-of-pearl-style props, and a dreamlike interior all unfold at once, completely changing the mood. There were so many foreign visitors there.

It's not just a dark bar — the twelve zodiac animals and shamanic elements are woven into the entire space, so there were plenty of spots for photos! If you're looking for a date spot or an unusual place to eat and drink in Sindang, this feels fun from the moment you walk in, haha.

How do the Sheep and Dragon cocktails at Ju Sindang taste?

Ju Sindang's signature menu is, of course, the cocktails inspired by the twelve zodiac animals. I tried two — Sheep and Dragon. The Sheep cocktail was sweet and smooth overall, making it an easy option even for people who don't usually drink cocktails often.

Both the Sheep and Dragon come in non-alcoholic versions too, which was great since friends who don't drink could enjoy them as well. If you like sweet flavors, I'd recommend starting with the Sheep.

The Dragon cocktail, on the other hand, had real presence just from its visual alone. Each drink has different ingredients and mood, so it was fun to order two and compare them side by side.

Since Ju Sindang's menu is divided by zodiac sign, it's a lot of fun when you visit with a group and each person picks a different one — 'oh, mine tastes like this?' I already want to try something new next time. If you're not sure which cocktail to choose, just tell the staff your flavor preference and ask for a recommendation — we got recommended the Dragon and the Sheep that way, haha.

Are the ohbang skewers a good match for cocktails?

Among the food we ordered, the ohbang skewers (five-direction skewers) stood out the most.

If you're curious what a dish looks like, you can scan the QR code on the menu to see a photo, which is handy! You'd normally think of bar snacks at a cocktail bar as just a simple side, but Ju Sindang has clearly put concept and thought into the food menu too.

Rather than tasting like a typical skewer, the ohbang skewers reminded me more of tomato, pizza, or pasta flavors. Kind of like eating pizza on a stick???

It was a good order when cocktails alone felt like something was missing, and the striking look made it great for photos too.

What does the black sesame and red bean cat cake taste like?

The last thing we ordered was the cat cake — the kind of dessert that makes you want to photograph it before anything else.

It looked so cute I first assumed it was a dessert made purely for visuals, but it actually tasted better than expected! A nutty black sesame flavor sits at the center with red bean paste inside, so it wasn't just plain sweet.

Eating it after the cocktails, the sweet-and-nutty combination worked really well as a kind of palate cleanser. Ju Sindang has so many photo spots that setting the cocktail and cake together makes for a great shot.
